VALDOSTA —
Peter Carswell “Pete” Rackley, 63, of Pelham, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla.
Graveside funeral services will be 4 p.m., today, Jan. 4, 2013 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Pelham. The Rev. Walter Flint will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ed Rackley, Joseph Rackley, Willie Williams, Woody Eubanks, Austin McCall, Danny Burgess, Cullis Taylor, and Jim Joiner.
Born July 13, 1949 in Mitchell County, Mr. Rackley was the son of the late Carswell and Nelle Smith Rackley. He was a 1967 graduate of Pelham High School and attended Norman Park College. Mr. Rackley was a farmer, having been recognized as former Soil and Water Conservation Farmer of the Year.
Survivors include one daughter, Leslie Musgrove and husband, Lee, of Valdosta; two sisters, Pricilla Boren of Albany and Patti Goodson and husband, Mark, of Valdosta; special friend, Brenda Cross of Camilla; grandchildren, Will Musgrove, Chase Musgrove, Jarrett Musgrove, and Megan Corbett; one great-grandchild, Addisyn Corbett; and nieces and nephews, Amanda Woeller, Rackley Boren, Beau Boren, and Tyler Goodson.
Visitation will be from 2 – 3:30 p.m., today, before services, at
Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla.
