VALDOSTA —
Joel S. Neal, age 68, of Dacula, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Lilburn with the remains placed in state at 1:30 p.m. Mr. John Mauser, Mr. Gary Smith and the Rev. Ken Hall will officiate. Interment will be held in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
A native of Valdosta, Mr. Neal was retired as a biomedical engineer from Beckman Coulter and was retired from Baxter International. Joel was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lilburn. He was a BSF Atlanta Area Class Administrator for 18 years and was an accomplished wood worker.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kay Neal of Dacula; daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Mike Crevar of Woodstock and Maribeth and George Stewart of Mooresville, N.C.; grandchildren, Alexander Crevar, Aaron Crevar, Turner Crevar, Ella Crevar, Katie Stewart and Becca Stewart; brother and sister-in-law, Butch and Jackie Neal of Valdosta; aunts, Tyra Sowell and Isabelle Neal; several nieces and nephews.
