Christy Harrell Monk, 46, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Talmadge Guess and the Rev. Allen Herrin officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Monk was born July 1, 1966, in Tallahassee, Fla., to David L. and Patsy McClellan Harrell. She was a 1984 Honor Graduate of Clinch County High School in Homerville, Ga., and a 1986 Honor Graduate in Radiology Technology from Ware Tech in Waycross, Ga. She was a medical transcriptionist and X-ray technician at Phoebe Dorminy Primary Care. Mrs. Monk was a member of the Homerville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Ray L. Monk of Fitzgerald; children: John and Lacy Roundtree of Pearson, Ga., Heather and Devin Long of Douglas, Ga. and Joshua Lamar Monk of Fitzgerald; parents: David and Patsy Harrell of Homerville, Ga.; grandson: Camden Roundtree; sister: Cathy and Dan Adcock of Lake Park, Ga.; grandmothers: Evelyn Harrell and Verna Whittle, both of Quincy, Fla.; father-in-law: Charles Monk of Nashville, Ga.
