Frank L. Miller

-- — Mr. Frank L. Miller was born on October 22, 1923, in Echols County, Georgia.  He was the son of the late George B. Miller and the late Florence Miller.  He departed this earthly life on Thursday, November 29, 2012.

He retired as a civil services worker at Moody Air Force Base before serving the Valdosta community as co-owner of Miller’s Dry Cleaning.  

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of more than 65 years, Mrs. Arletha Hester Miller; his daughter, Ms. Cassandra Annette Murray, mother of Nitara Murray and Keenan Murray; his sister, Mrs. Rosa M. McShan of Centerville, Illinois, and his brother, Mr. George L. Miller of Jacksonville, Florida.  He was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Mrs. Voytelle Miller Gardner, mother of Seth Gardner and Joshua Gardner, as well as his brother, Mr. Lee L. Miller.

He will be greatly missed by other extended family – sons Earl Carter (Ella) and Edward Carter (Shirley), daughter Barbara Jean Bailey and sister-in-law Vivian B. Hill.  He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Claytis C. Knox, and leaves a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to cherish his memory.

Graveside service for Mr. Frank L. Miller, age 89, will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012, at 1 p.m., at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Valdosta.   If the weather does not permit, the service will be held at the chapel of Godfrey Funeral Home, 636 River Street, Valdosta.  Public viewing will be on today from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Godfrey Funeral Home.
