VALDOSTA —
Margaret Louise Longacre, 71, of Valdosta, formerly of Delaware, passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in Wilmington, Delaware on Sept. 28, 1941, to the late Elwood and Margaret Johnson. She was a member of Redland Baptist Church. She loved working crossword puzzles, reading, sewing and animals. She is joined in heaven with her husband, Harvey B. Longacre; two sons, Butchie Longacre and Bobby Longacre; and two grandsons, Jimmy Jones and Brian Longacre.
Survivors include three daughters and son-in-law, Diane Longacre of Valdosta, Becky and Melvin Jones of Chesapeake City, Md., Anna Longacre of Valdosta; two sons and daughter-in-law, Paul Longacre of Sussex County, Del., Charlie and Patty Longacre of Wilmington, Del., 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Orledge of Wilmington, Del., brother, Ronald Johnson of Sussex County, Del.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Redland Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
