VALDOSTA —
Mrs. Dorothy " Dot " G. Hicks, 80, of Adel, GA., passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, GA. She was born October 9, 1932 in Adel, GA., to the late Jesse Edwards Griffin and Winnie Carter Griffin. She lived most of her life in Cook County, was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Hicks is survived a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Becky Hicks of Adel, GA; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra H. and Dennis Scott of Lilburn, GA; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lamar Griffin of Adel, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin M. "Ben" Hicks; two sons, Donald M. Hicks and Rodney D. Hicks; four brothers, Eston Griffin, Howard Griffin, Jesse Griffin, and W.M. Griffiin; and two sisters Lucille Johnson and Lillian Heldth.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, February 22, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., Adel, GA.
The funeral service will take place Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Pastor Junior Dees and Pastor Randy Stephens officiating.
Internment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Adel, GA. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com. Boone Funeral Home is serving the Hicks Family.
