Malcolm Lee (Mike) Pittman Jr., 38, of Valdosta and more recently of Macon, passed away Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia at Macon from injuries received in an automobile accident. Mike’s family made organ donations to numerous recipients.
Mike was born May 22, 1970, in Valdosta, and was a professional painter and landscaper. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting fishing and the arts.
He is survived by his father, Malcolm Lee Pittman Sr. of Macon; his mother and stepfather, Linda and John G. Ring III of Quitman; grandmother, Etta Mae Pinkos of Loch Haven, Pa.; grandfather, James E. Collins of Quitman; sister and brother-in-law, Angela and Daniel W. Williams of Dahlonega; two nieces and a nephew, Kailey, Hailey, and Dylan Williams of Dahlonega; step-grandmother, Sandra Ring of Quitman; aunts, Wretha Yeich of Loch Haven, Pa., Marilyn Bodnaruk of Ocala, Fla., Tina Collins and Betsy Morris of Valdosta; uncles, Donnie and Eddie Collins of Valdosta; numerous great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Massie Lee Pittman, his maternal grandmother, Mary E. Collins, and his step-grandfather, John G. Ring Jr.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Pastor Gerald Greenlee officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Lillie Christine “Teenie” Ferrell
Lillie Christine “Teenie” Ferrell, 65 of Stockton, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010 in the South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born January 6, 1945 in Clinch County, Georgia to the late William Aubrey & Lillie Mae Courson Bennett. She was a homemaker and attended the Love Joy Community Church.

Lucile W. Garner, 87, of Valdosta, died Friday, April 30, 2010 at her residence. She was born on Oct. 8, 1922 in Quitman to the late Roy Lee Wilson, Sr. and Vara Adams Wilson. Mrs. Garner was a bank teller at First Union Bank, was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and was a tremendous mother and grandmother.

Effie Lightsey, of Valdosta died on Friday, April 30, 2010 after a full life of 93 years. She was born in Cook County Georgia on Sept. 29, 1916 to the late Curtis and Scrappie Selph Hayes. She was a retired sales associate with Fashions Direct and was of the Baptist Faith.

Linda Reese Stapp, of Lake Park died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on June 16, in Eatonton, Ga. to the late Newton Henry and Emma Lou Holder Reese and had lived in Lowndes County for forty years. Mrs. Stapp was a retired beautician having worked for Benny Mitcham at the Head Boutique for many years. She was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church, attended the Lake Park First Baptist Church and attended Sunday School meetings at Lake Park Christian Church. Mrs. Stapp enjoyed her family and going to Target.

Mrs. Lugenia Woods, age 84, of 3332 Old State Road, Valdosta, Ga., passed this life on Tuesday April 27, 2010 at her residence. She was born on July 25, 1925 in Brooks County to the late Mr. Chester Copeland and the late Mrs. Gustava J. Copeland. She was married to the late Mr. Lorrain Woods.

Mr. Bobby Webb, 70 of Hahira passed away April 28, 2010 at South Georgia Medical Center.
He was born March 22, 1940 in Hahira to the late Sammy Benjamin and Cora Lee Kimsey Webb. He lived in Lowndes County most of his life. He was retired from Clay Freeman’s Auto Parts and was a member of Remerton United Methodist Church. -
Grace Valentine Rentz
Grace Valentine Rentz, 96, of Lake Park, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at her daughter’s residence. She was born in Howell, Ga. on May 7, 1913 to the late William Oscar and Annie Florence Howell Valentine. Mrs. Rentz was a homemaker and the oldest member of Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church. She was a lifelong resident of Echols county.

August George (A.G.) Miller was born June 26, 1949 to the late Carry H. and Edner Miller in Bayminette, Ala. He passed this life April 28, 2010 at his residence. A.G. accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. He spent his early years in Howell, Ga. and later moved to Homerville, Ga. where he attended the Clinch County School System. He moved to Valdosta after serving his country honorably in the United States Navy for five years. A.G. was employed with Crackling Good Bakery in Valdosta, Ga. for 26 years. -

Doris Johnson Molle, age 83, of Orange City, Fla., passed away April 27, 2010, at Florida Hospital and Memorial Medical Center, Ormond Beach, Fla. She was born in Hahira, Ga., on Dec. 30, 1926, to the late Ivey W. Johnson and Estelle Kelly Johnson.

Judge Wilbur D. Owens Jr., 80, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, after a long illness.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 30, 2010, in Riverside Cemetery, entering through the Madison Street entrance. Visitation will be after the service.
