South Georgia needs a Minor League Baseball team. For those of us who enjoy Minor League Baseball, I would love to see Valdosta get a team. Please someone step up to the plate and bring a team to Valdosta.
I would like to congratulate the LHS Vikette track team for winning their first home track meet last Tuesday. Wow, that would be like a day before the boys won theirs, you think? Great job ladies. It's a shame you don't get recognition on the LHS homepage like the boys or did I just miss that? No offense guys, proud of you too, but I figure a win for the school is a win whether boys or girls.
Hello? If you rent a place in Remerton, especially one that backs up to a street lined with bars, in a college town, um, you can expect noise. I would suggest move! They (the bars) have been there forever, and I don’t think they are going anywhere.
A 7 percent ad valorem tax on a new or used car in addition to the 7 percent sales tax being considered by the Georgia Legislature is a tax hike for all but the rich unless you keep your car for years longer than average. Most people will have to finance it with the car. This is bad medicine for the people and the automobile industry in the name of raising tax.
The Macadoo's pay it forward guy is over 150 times now, and others are doing it also. Such a small act of kindness has brought so many smiles to so many people. All of you that "pay it forward" are doing a fabulous job.
How many phone calls is it going to take to get the city marshalls to actually do their job? We are still seeing trash cans and recycle bins out by the road for weeks at a time, not to mention the four to five cars parked in the grass at rental properties. Please help us homeowners keep our property clean.
I just wanted to rant about Wild Adventures. I purchased four tickets to Keith Urban with my pass. Day of the concert I had to pay $139 to get into a park that was closed. Maybe that's why his concert wasn't sold out? Ridiculous, and I will never go back to Wild Adventures. They should stamp your hand if you want to go the concert only, and pay for a normal concert!

Congratulations to VMS's seventh-grade band on all their superior ratings at Thursday's Georgia Music Educators Association Festival at Ware County. They competed with about 15 other bands and were the only seventh-grade band from the Lowndes/Valdosta area. Thank you Mr. Bradley and Mr. Downs.
Praise and thanks to everyone at Baytree Animal Hospital for the excellent care and treatment of my newly adopted shelter dog. Special appreciation to Dr. Knight, Dr. Hall, and Dana whose love and care coaxed my dog to eat.
