The purpose of the new car ordinance was to stop large groups of tenants from illegally living together in family homes. However, the tenants now 1) park on the road at night and 2) park in their backyards. The marshals have not been consistently and repeatedly enforcing the new law. Another good law is being destroyed by little to no enforcement — what a disappointment.
If the Lowndes County School dress code is not changing, I hope the standing code will be enforced. While checking my child out at LHS, three young men came into the office with pants hanging past their behinds. The police officer was at the check-out desk as well as two other staff members. Not one of these people told those boys to pull up their pants. I did! The boys looked at me like I was crazy, but they did pull them up.
Hello! The bars in Remerton have not always been here. The residents were here first. All of Remerton was zoned residential. The bars came knowing there were residents at their back doors and the City of Remerton allowed the bars to move in. Fact: The city of Remerton just changed the zoning (not properly) of the front street where the bars now stand, after the bars were there.
I wish there was a radio station that would play church hymns. Music ministers at churches and stations seem to be playing nothing but contemporary.
To the vehicle and driver that did the damage to the building 714 E. Hill, Saturday night, please come forward. This is not the first time or second time.
It is sad that so many of our teen drivers don’t use safety belts. Come on parents, do your job.
As I sat at a red light, I scanned the cars going by with the green light. Out of 19 cars, 12 had drivers with cell phones to their ears.
Does the city think we are dumb enough to believe all the work at Country Club Road. and North Valdosta Road is to reduce accidents? It's to cut down on the "have-nots" traveling on the "haves" road.
I would like to thank my Milo worker in Lake Park. He picks up everything I put at the curb. If it wasn't for him, I would be wondering what to do about my $8 charge from the county. Now I will keep my service and grumble everytime I pay the water bill.
A special thanks to the group of kids in Lanier County that are always working at cleaning the Robert Simpson Trail and other areas of our town. Your projects are appreciated and it's great that the adults take the time to be involved as well.
Wild Adventures has made many wonderful changes. Concerts have always been included in the park admission charge. The VDT announced in Friday's edition that the park would be closing for the concert and it was on their Web site too. It’s not their fault that you did not know that. Buy a pass and go to as many concerts as you want and go back for the rides another day.
