VALDOSTA —
Asking people to get a flu shot seems like something more for the fall than January.
Actually, The Times recommended folks get flu shots a few months ago, but with this week’s reminder that there is likely three months of flu season left, it would seem now is also a good time to recommend the shot.
In Wednesday’s editions of The Times, South Health District officials reminded readers that the flu season often peaks in late February or March but can last as long as May. That peak period is more than a month to two months away.
With that much time remaining, health officials suggest anyone who hasn’t already been vaccinated against the flu to do so as soon as possible.
The flu shot is a relatively pain-free and inexpensive way to protect yourself and your loved ones from dealing with the suffering of the flu, as well as ensuring no one misses work or school.
