The Valdosta Daily Times
VALDOSTA — Congratulations North Brooks Elementary third graders! That was a wonderful program about famous inventors. It was nice to see a good kid-friendly program where students were being taught about history. I learned a lot!
If you didn't go to the VSU spring football game between the white & black teams you missed a good game. And it was free.
Kudos to the officers working overnight with the Valdosta Police Department! You can't go anywhere in the wee hours of the morning without seeing them enforcing traffic laws and taking criminals to jail. Great job and thanks for all you do!
Yeah, let’s have the one financially stable school system "unify" with one that is apparently unstable. Great plan, don’t you think? So the Lowndes school board is cutting personnel. Something tells me that the created but poorly described positions of board members' wives and coaches' wives will still be in the budget.
Can we stop fooling ourselves and remove the benches from the street corners? There are no buses and no one ever uses them.
To the person who said "The ones who aren’t in law enforcement are just too scared to do the job we do everyday,” don't forget that other jobs are just as important. If you don't think so, tell the person who works at your bank that they aren't important and see where your money goes then or the person who picks up your trash or someone that helps protect you and our country that they are too scared. Perhaps you should put your name next time you make a moronic post like that if you are that brave.
I agree. Why are buses allowed to speed? I also have had problems with school buses speeding through our neighborhood. It does no good to call the bus barn and speak to their boss, because there has been no change. They are still speeding. My next call will be the Sheriffs Department!!
The Brooks County Sheriff's Department has bigger problems to worry about than you not liking the inmate detail cleaning up county property.
VCS is wrong for banning cell phones from campus. Use of them during school hours yes, I agree 100 percent, but banning them, no! My child is involved in extracurricular activities and clubs at the school, and the band and would not be able to communicate with us about pick up or safety of their whereabouts. I firmly agree no use at school but don't punish all for some!
