Times have changed. Teachers and students need cell phones. Back in the day when the ranter went to school, he didn't need a phone, nor did his teacher. There also were no discipline problems then. Visit a city school on any given day without your cell phone and I guarantee you would want to have yours for safety.
If there was a sign-up sheet for the folks at Lake Park, any child currently registered that was not on the sheet should be withdrawn from the program and the spot given to one who followed the rules. To condone these actions is condoning bullying and cheating. Is that the lesson we want to promote?
I was highly impressed with the new Chick-fil-A. They walked customers to their cars with an umbrella while it was raining. You don't find customer service like that anymore!
To the person who said, "school buses aren't speeding — they are diesel." You need to run for public office, or become a film producer in Hollywood. You have the ability to take an obvious truth, and for some hidden agenda, blur, confuse, deny or redirect that which is so obviously the truth.
Is it off limits to question comments from city or county officials regarding the great divide that seems to get wider every day? So, I guess working together is not on their agendas.
If Valdosta is so “Metro,” why is there no transit system? And where are the businesses just clamoring to locate here? I can't wait until the next election. Can you?
When Canada implemented its health care reforms, many physicians fled to the U.S. because they would lose their riches. Canada doesn't miss them. The same is true here. If you are in the medical field to get rich, we don't need you. Medicine, like teaching, is a calling.
On Friday, school bus No. 41 whipped out in front of me from Northside Drive onto Jaycee Shack Road and then proceeded to speed down the road. These were very poor driving choices. I hope someone will educate this driver on safer driving. There were no cars behind me and no reason for this bus driver to do that.
Awesome job, LHS Mock Trial Team and Coaches. What a wonderful accomplishment to win Region and strong finish at State, thanks to all the coaches for their hard work, You all have so much to be proud of and to win with academics. It makes me smile!
