Rant and Rave for Monday, Dec. 21, 2009

I encourage those of you who have not read the proposed health care reform to do so. Our government is taking away our freedom to choose whether or not to have health care. Obama (I don't consider him my president) is slowly moving us toward a socialist society, with a dictator. We need to encourage our senators not to vote for this reform, and if they do, do not vote them back into office.

As a husband of a teacher, I have to say, some parents have the nerve to get mad at a teacher for introducing their children to consequences for their actions. To most modern day parents, teach your children to sit down, shut up and keep their hands to themselves. Otherwise society will teach them.

We definitely need to elect different officials for Valdosta. All they do is sit and think of how they can take more money from the citizens. Now they are taking land.

Rave to Brad at the post office. Sadly enough, it was my first time having to go to the post office for myself, and I was without a clue. He was considerate and nice. He had the same welcoming smile when I left the counter as when I approached it. Your kindness and helpfulness was much appreciated.

I guess if the city wanted to build a huntin’ and fishin' store, you'd be all for the 5 Points project. Let's get some culture and education down here, folks.

This is to all the cry babies that fuss about the Mexicans getting all the work. Well if all these lazy Americans would get off their lazy butts they would probably have a job. I like to eat produce so thanks to all the Mexicans that pick it for us or otherwise we wouldn’t have any.

City officials forcibly taking property and wanting to spend millions of dollars while at the same time taking benefits from city employees, raising insurance premiums, and fattening their own wallets. The American Revolution began for reasons such as this. We need a change in management here.

You are not required to put your hand over your heart during the National Anthem, only the Pledge of Allegiance.

You people miss the point. The owners of 5 Points want too much for the property. It has not been maintained. The buildings have been vacant for so long, they are unsafe and can't be rented. If the owners are going to do nothing to revitalize the property but let it deteriorate, the city has every right to condemn it.
