Rant & Rave for Monday, Jan. 4, 2010

I would like to give you two valuable pieces of advice, (1) Never pawn your car title; (2) When and if you sell your gold, make sure you know what it is worth.

Thanks to Virginia Morrison and family for stopping to help me when my car broke down on Christmas morning. The police and mail carrier passed me by on the road. Thanks for all they did to help me. Yes, there is a Santa Claus and her name in Virginia. God bless!

Thanks to the person who found my Sam’s credit card and turned it in to Sam’s. Your honesty is appreciated and may God bless you and yours this holiday season. Thanks.

The folks who live in Foxborough want to thank the "kind gentleman" in the little pickup truck who dumped the remains of the deer he killed and butchered so the children in the neighborhood would get a chance to see blood and gore firsthand. The wild animals and birds who live on our perimeter also thank him, but some of the parts were too big to drag away and had to be left along the street.

Well, we all know what will happen to the lot where the Mathis City Auditorium stands. It will become a parking lot for SGMC employees and their well-deserved raises will go astray again. Stop tearing down things that we already have and use the ones that are already paid for. Why don't you use the new building that is empty for parking like it was first intended for and stop wasting money?

Please consider soliciting input from community arts and music groups in the creation of new performance spaces so that music practice rooms, dance practice rooms and other spaces friendly to community arts involvement can be included.

The good thing about purchasing Five Points is beautifing the area and improving traffic flow. Very little revenue will be generated building a small auditorium, the same problem that currently exists with the conference center. The city is working hard to make sure the local taxes go up.

Health care should never ever be publicly owned. It turns patients into victims and providers into crooks. Your health care is more important than a company’s stock. Obama should know better. I will never go to a publicly owned health care provider.

Thank you, Dasher. I know the flag was replaced in a timely manner prior to the rant.
