The Valdosta Daily Times
While Valdosta State University has enjoyed spring break this week, Valdosta and Lowndes County schools will be out during the first week of April.
Given how the heavy spring break traffic has already taken its toll with accidents along South Georgia’s portion of Interstate 75, we would remind everyone to be mindful of the laws of the road.
Drive safely while traveling during spring break. Also, in a couple of weeks, drivers should remember area children will be out of school and enjoying the outdoors, riding bikes and playing.
Parents should take a few moments to remind children to be careful, and parents have hopefully arranged for someone to watch their children.
Parents may also want to take some time to spend with their children. Spring break should serve as a reminder of just how fast time goes by. Seems like the school year just started and already we’re just a few weeks from the end of another school year.
Parents, spring break may be a good week to ask for an early afternoon off, or to take a personal day. Or stay up a little later and watch a weeknight movie with the kids. Or make one evening a family game night since there are no school nights during spring break.
Parents should do as much as they can to spend a little time with children during spring break while children have the time.
Because, before you know it, those children will be grown and gone.
