The Valdosta Daily Times
THUMBS UP: To the Moody airmen who were featured on the National Geographic Channel. The community knows what a fantastic group of military men and women we have here at Moody, and now the entire country is able to see the incredible work they do, the training, the committment and the dedication to their jobs they demonstrate every day.
THUMBS UP: To Valdosta State University and South Georgia Medical Center for “topping out” the Health Sciences and Business Administration building this week. The project is a testimony to what can be accomplished when two major entities combine their resources and efforts. The building will house education programs that will benefit the community for years to come by bringing medical personnel to the area to train.
THUMBS DOWN: To those who continually fall for online, telephone and door to door scams. If a price sounds too good to be true, it is. Don’t sign any paperwork, give out personal information or give anyone cash, credit card information or a check. If you think it’s shady, call the police and ask, but don’t let yourself get taken advantage of by fraudsters.
THUMBS UP: To the creators of the movie, “Grandma’s Blessings,” which will make its red carpet premiere right here in Valdosta this Friday. The filmmakers have worked diligently to bring a mix of Southern charm and wit to the big screen, and Friday’s event is sure to be a fun, festive and entertaining evening. Tickets for the screening are still available, so Valdosta, get out and support our hometown movie moguls this Friday.
