As long as we insist in this country that we must educate the masses and insist that everyone must graduate to be a success, then we're going to have to dumb down the information ...

No Food Stamps Card should be used for crab legs. Get a job and pay for your luxury items like I have to do. We need change in food stamp purchases!

It’s obvious that the Lowndes school board members have never been in the classroom. The new grading system is an embarrassment to all of us in the community. There goes the incentive for good students to do well!

When will administrators realize that the "fault" lies with the student? If a high school student gets a zero on a spelling test because they refuse to take it, then that certainly is not the fault of the teacher or the parent(s). All students should reap what they sow. Life will not be this cushy.

In response to the LCS's new grading policy, a middle school child was recently overheard saying he didn't have to study any more because he could just take the first test, then take the re-test when he failed the first time. Nice work, folks.

The new Lowndes County grading system seriously worries me for those kids. This is setting them up for failure at a collegiate level. There is no such thing as "re-tests" in college...

I believe the VDT published an interview with the City Manager stating there will not be any increase in traffic congestion due to Olive Garden. Once again an example that he does not know what he is doing. How much time is he actually doing work in his office compared to meetings that he is out at....city business and not city business.

I am a 21-year-old college student that lived in Remerton. RPD is not “targeting” anyone. Majority of the people who travel through Remerton are college kids, so common sense says more will be pulled over than other ages. Show some responsibility, grow up, and quit making law enforcement out to be criminals. An officer dies on duty every 56 hours, and RPD put their lives on the line each day for our safety. Thank you, RPD. Some do appreciate it.

Valdosta is not a "perfect" place to live. There are good and bad people who do some good and bad things. For the most, people try to just do their own thing and respect others’ privacy, yards, noise ordinance dogs or loud kids. There are a few who will go out of their way to not watch their kids. When these are pointed out, they get offended and want to act like the immature parents they are. Remember, "we all should be trying to get along!"

Regarding the Pre K lottery, I know for a fact employees are not given preference. I have a friend that works at Lake Park Elementary and her son was not chosen. Hope this eases your mind.
