VALDOSTA —
Whoever owns the little Chihuahua in Hahira, near the elementary school — please chain him up or put him in the house. I cannot count how many times this dog has almost been run over by myself and other cars.
To the person from Monday’s Rant & Rave on the paving of Coppage Road: That was a well said comment! I am a Coppage Road resident, and in favor of paving the road. Paving the road has nothing to do with land being in the family for generations. Sounds as though they are just trying to find a good excuse for not wanting it paved. Let’s go, Lowndes County, and let’s get this project going!
How does forcing me to pay for something I don't want (ObamaCare) save me money? Charity from the barrel of a gun isn't charity, it's theft.
You're right. There are a lot of busy bodies around here. There are also a lot of people putting things on Facebook that should never be out in the open, and many of them are proud of it. If you put your personal business on the Internet, don't be surprised when people talk about you!
Wow, we should rename Facebook "High School Replay." Forty-something people who act like high school kids? And you think you look cool?
Maybe because logging without permission and a permit is illegal?
To the person who said that the education system is failing our children: While there are many problems, it is not the job of the system to act as a substitute parent for these kids. The respect for authority and discipline should come from the parents first. That is part of raising your child.
To all the people who decide to get out on Sunday mornings to run lawn mowers, chain saws, blowers, etc. — some people would prefer a peaceful and quiet Sunday at home. Please be respectful of other people’s privacy and don’t start up your engines until after Sunday services and lunch.
Thanks to the beautiful lady who returned my lost ring to me at TJ Maxx. It is a family inheritance. God bless you and the wonderful staff who helped me find the ring.
Many thanks to Toni, Dr. Kumar’s nurse at Valdosta Medical. She is so helpful.
It is not the education system who is failing our kids, it is the parents who are failing our kids, who are not teaching them respect.

I am thankful I chose to stick with Deep South Sanitation. Our trash is always picked up right on time and he never leaves anything behind. After all my neighbors' trash is "picked up," often items are strewn by the road and the cans are either left in the road or fallen in or beside the road. Get rid of the big company and move to Deep South, if you want true customer service!

Over 150 applicants applied for the handful of teaching jobs in Lowndes County. Plus, almost every single paraprofessional is a certified teacher who has been waiting patiently, “doing their time.” And, Lake Park Elementary hires a teacher who has quit, not once, but twice before. The "good ole' boy" network at its finest.

Have we progressed to the point where we are arguing about gay marriage? I thought the South was still outraged about blacks being able to marry whites! Hmm...We will catch up to the rest of the world eventually.

I found the cartoon referencing Tim Tebow's Christianity on Thursday's editorial page very offensive. I can agree that many people are out for what God can do for them, not how they can serve God, But I do not see any evidence of that attitude or life style in Tim Tebow's life. Time will tell.

Good riddance to the doctor unable to take Medicaid patients?! Do you work for free? I bet you go to work and expect a paycheck. Why would the doctor be any different? Blame our fearless leaders, not the doctors. And you are WAY out of line questioning whether that person is Christian or not. Sounds like the person who thinks preachers should work for free.

Amazing: Even a judgmental person like yourself can’t even bother to get the facts straight before you criticize something. Jason Collins did an extremely brave thing by coming out in a world filled with people such as yourself. Words of Wisdom: Leave the judging to God.

Raves to Mrs. Kay and Mrs. Sylvia at Cook Primary! They have the best behaved class and are the best teachers in that school!

To all who use Coleman Road as a short cut between Old Highway 41 North and North Valdosta Road, please remember the speed limit is 35, not 65. Tailgating me isn’t going to make me go faster. Remember, it’s our neighborhoods, not your short cut!

I hope Al Sharpton finds time to visit the mother in Brunswick whose baby was shot point blank in the forehead while in his baby stroller. Perhaps the reverend could also counsel the angry young black man who pulled the trigger. Oh wait, the baby was white. Never mind.

I thought that all schools had dress codes that the teachers and substitutes had to follow? When I walk into the school it looks like they are headed to the pool instead of the classroom. Tank tops and skimpy skirts are not allowed. Come on, administration, make them follow the rules. Thank you, to the teachers and staff that do adhere to the dress code.
