My two friends and I went to eat at Fuji, the Chinese place in the mall. We were sitting behind this couple who were very talkative and nice. We all chatted while we ate, well as we got up to go pay, the man took our ticket and paid our meal for us. I would just like to say thank you to that very nice man. Its good to know that there’s still kindness in the world.
Congratulations to the Georgia Bridgemen for their outstanding performance at the Oconee Classic last weekend where they were named Grand Champions! So proud of all the hard work that they have put into the show and proud that the theme is an awesome tribute to our wonderful country’s heritage! Go Bridgemen!
Teachers have to fork out a lot from their own pockets. Tee shirts are pushed to be sold to students and teachers. Fund raising is pushed, also. Don’t deny that.
Fund-raisers are not FUN-draiser’s.
To take away our last chance to go to the Winnersville game in our high school career is outrageous but most of all heartbreaking. Many of us have been for waiting this day since we entered the doors of Valdosta High School and have been motivated to continue a streak that may began against our rivals as of last season.
Please help change the minds of the four Lowndes County Middle Schools to allow the Cook Middle 8th graders play in the conference softball tournament! Please reschedule the tournament so they can go on their school Washington D.C. trip. Don’t squash the dreams of these eight girls!
School T-shirts are a good way to show pride in your child’s school. Also, some of the profit goes towards fun activities for the students such as honor roll parties, dances, field day, etc. However, no one is forcing you to buy anything. It is your choice.
To answer the Thursday rant looking for a great doctor’s office in Valdosta; I have your answer. Dr. Parrott’s office is always clean, efficient, curious, and knowledgeable. I’ve never waited over 15 minutes and the doctors/nurses always take the time to answer my questions and make me feel comfortable.
In reference to the doctor who has plenty of time, it is Dr. John Anderson. He is great, wonderful and have time for everybody. We do have some doctors who are wonderful in Valdosta.

Over 150 applicants applied for the handful of teaching jobs in Lowndes County. Plus, almost every single paraprofessional is a certified teacher who has been waiting patiently, “doing their time.” And, Lake Park Elementary hires a teacher who has quit, not once, but twice before. The "good ole' boy" network at its finest.

Have we progressed to the point where we are arguing about gay marriage? I thought the South was still outraged about blacks being able to marry whites! Hmm...We will catch up to the rest of the world eventually.

I found the cartoon referencing Tim Tebow's Christianity on Thursday's editorial page very offensive. I can agree that many people are out for what God can do for them, not how they can serve God, But I do not see any evidence of that attitude or life style in Tim Tebow's life. Time will tell.

Good riddance to the doctor unable to take Medicaid patients?! Do you work for free? I bet you go to work and expect a paycheck. Why would the doctor be any different? Blame our fearless leaders, not the doctors. And you are WAY out of line questioning whether that person is Christian or not. Sounds like the person who thinks preachers should work for free.

Amazing: Even a judgmental person like yourself can’t even bother to get the facts straight before you criticize something. Jason Collins did an extremely brave thing by coming out in a world filled with people such as yourself. Words of Wisdom: Leave the judging to God.

Raves to Mrs. Kay and Mrs. Sylvia at Cook Primary! They have the best behaved class and are the best teachers in that school!

To all who use Coleman Road as a short cut between Old Highway 41 North and North Valdosta Road, please remember the speed limit is 35, not 65. Tailgating me isn’t going to make me go faster. Remember, it’s our neighborhoods, not your short cut!

I hope Al Sharpton finds time to visit the mother in Brunswick whose baby was shot point blank in the forehead while in his baby stroller. Perhaps the reverend could also counsel the angry young black man who pulled the trigger. Oh wait, the baby was white. Never mind.

I thought that all schools had dress codes that the teachers and substitutes had to follow? When I walk into the school it looks like they are headed to the pool instead of the classroom. Tank tops and skimpy skirts are not allowed. Come on, administration, make them follow the rules. Thank you, to the teachers and staff that do adhere to the dress code.

Property tax should be based on value. School taxes should be separate and assessed to each household equally, no exemptions. The rich, middle and poor should pay equally for children's public education.
