VALDOSTA —
Thank you, Mrs. Dana at HUMC preschool! We couldn't ask for a better teacher for our little one. You have been a blessing.
I want to give a big RAVE for Destini who works at the movie theatre. She is always so nice, friendly, and smiling.. whether she is at the door, the food station or greeting me when I buy my ticket. Kudos to her and thank you!
Raves to the hard-working people of Temple Israel for another successful sandwich sale. The food was great as usual and proceeds go for a very worthy cause. Thanks again.
We do have a few deli's here in Valdosta. Jimmy John's is to die for! Turkey sub with cucumber, tomato and avocado sauce. Making me hungry! I haven't been to Manny's but I've heard good things.
I would like to thank the faculty and staff of Lighthouse Christian school and Daycare for all that you do. Both my children attend this school and daycare and I am greeted every single morning with smiling faces and great attitudes. I am so proud of the Christian values that are taught at this school and glad that my children attend there!
I want to thank my carrier too. She's a nice lady in a blue Toyota Corolla and she always makes sure we get our paper every day. She always wraps our paper in plastic when it rains. Thank you Miss Hudson!
Huge rave to Dr. Ambrozic and his staff at the Southern Vein & Laser Center. They're so caring, courteous and most importantly knowledgeable. Valdosta needs more physicians like him.
Rave to Jessica who works at the Flashfoods on St. Augustine. She is a great employee. I have problems getting around and she was kind enough to bring my money to my care. If employers had workers like her, they would have it made.
Praise to Barry Fitzgerald for writing “Come, Follow Me”, and the Perimeter Baptist Church members who participated in the performance to celebrate Easter. It was all done to honor God through Christian faith and obedience.
Thank you to the VHS bus driver who found our son's wallet and personally made sure he got it back.
Great job, Max at Verizon! You have awesome customer sevice skills and a wonderful personality!

I am thankful I chose to stick with Deep South Sanitation. Our trash is always picked up right on time and he never leaves anything behind. After all my neighbors' trash is "picked up," often items are strewn by the road and the cans are either left in the road or fallen in or beside the road. Get rid of the big company and move to Deep South, if you want true customer service!

Over 150 applicants applied for the handful of teaching jobs in Lowndes County. Plus, almost every single paraprofessional is a certified teacher who has been waiting patiently, “doing their time.” And, Lake Park Elementary hires a teacher who has quit, not once, but twice before. The "good ole' boy" network at its finest.

Have we progressed to the point where we are arguing about gay marriage? I thought the South was still outraged about blacks being able to marry whites! Hmm...We will catch up to the rest of the world eventually.

I found the cartoon referencing Tim Tebow's Christianity on Thursday's editorial page very offensive. I can agree that many people are out for what God can do for them, not how they can serve God, But I do not see any evidence of that attitude or life style in Tim Tebow's life. Time will tell.

Good riddance to the doctor unable to take Medicaid patients?! Do you work for free? I bet you go to work and expect a paycheck. Why would the doctor be any different? Blame our fearless leaders, not the doctors. And you are WAY out of line questioning whether that person is Christian or not. Sounds like the person who thinks preachers should work for free.

Amazing: Even a judgmental person like yourself can’t even bother to get the facts straight before you criticize something. Jason Collins did an extremely brave thing by coming out in a world filled with people such as yourself. Words of Wisdom: Leave the judging to God.

Raves to Mrs. Kay and Mrs. Sylvia at Cook Primary! They have the best behaved class and are the best teachers in that school!

To all who use Coleman Road as a short cut between Old Highway 41 North and North Valdosta Road, please remember the speed limit is 35, not 65. Tailgating me isn’t going to make me go faster. Remember, it’s our neighborhoods, not your short cut!

I hope Al Sharpton finds time to visit the mother in Brunswick whose baby was shot point blank in the forehead while in his baby stroller. Perhaps the reverend could also counsel the angry young black man who pulled the trigger. Oh wait, the baby was white. Never mind.

I thought that all schools had dress codes that the teachers and substitutes had to follow? When I walk into the school it looks like they are headed to the pool instead of the classroom. Tank tops and skimpy skirts are not allowed. Come on, administration, make them follow the rules. Thank you, to the teachers and staff that do adhere to the dress code.
