VALDOSTA —
From the lady who was having a not so good day to the gentleman in the black Ford truck with a Brooks County tag, thank you for buying my lunch at St. Augustine Road Chick-fil-A today. You restored my faith in humanity and made my day a little brighter. I will pay it forward!
I want to thank my Heavenly Father for saving me. I pray that everyone will remember 2,000 years ago our Savior was born and suffered and died for us. Merry Christmas.
The “Seasons Greetings” sign isn’t meant to remove Christ from Christmas, but yet to acknowledge all beliefs. If yours is Merry Christmas, that’s cool. If Happy Kwanzaa is your choice, then that’s fine, too. Maybe you celebrate the Festival of Lights, so Happy Hanukkah to you! We should all get along, but until then, Happy Festivus!
Thank you to the Department of Transportation for finally making an opportunity for two cars to turn at the same time off Exit 18, southbound ramp.
I would like to thank Gateway Baptist Church for the wonderful Christmas Cantata performed by the children. It truly touched my heart to watch the children perform songs, while a book that was written by a local writer, Jane R. Willis, was read. I purchased one of her books for a keepsake. The children were wonderful and the true meaning of Christmas could be felt. Merry Christmas to a wonderful church.
In Publix this afternoon, I watched a woman hang out after she paid her bill and when the cashier finished ringing up the woman behind her, the first woman said, “I’ll be paying that bill today.” That random act of kindness will stay with all who witnessed this. What a beautiful woman. Made my day wonderful and no one bought my groceries.
A huge thank you to the man, at Fred’s, that paid for my item that the cashier forgot to ring up. It was just a box of baby wipes, but just the small gesture meant so much to me! God bless you and Merry Christmas!
Raves to Redland Baptist Church, Pastor Watkins, Pastor Sirmans and Mrs. Sirmans for making a difference Saturday for our foster-care children! That’s what Christmas is all about!
A big “Thank You” to the house on Patterson Street, across from the hospital, for putting the mechanical Santa on their front porch. I look for it every year. Feels like Christmas when I see Santa waving.

How long is it going to take AT&T telephone and/or Mediacom cable to do something about the vines and bushes growing over the cable lines at Mt. Zion Church Road and Academy Acres. The lines are pulled down where a 6 foot person can touch them. We won’t have any cable service or phone service if something is not done about this pretty soon.

Alright Sister's Pizza, how am I supposed to cheat on my diet if you stay closed! The other pizza places are too far from downtown for my lunch hour and are a bit too greasy.

I am thankful I chose to stick with Deep South Sanitation. Our trash is always picked up right on time and he never leaves anything behind. After all my neighbors' trash is "picked up," often items are strewn by the road and the cans are either left in the road or fallen in or beside the road. Get rid of the big company and move to Deep South, if you want true customer service!

Over 150 applicants applied for the handful of teaching jobs in Lowndes County. Plus, almost every single paraprofessional is a certified teacher who has been waiting patiently, “doing their time.” And, Lake Park Elementary hires a teacher who has quit, not once, but twice before. The "good ole' boy" network at its finest.

Have we progressed to the point where we are arguing about gay marriage? I thought the South was still outraged about blacks being able to marry whites! Hmm...We will catch up to the rest of the world eventually.

I found the cartoon referencing Tim Tebow's Christianity on Thursday's editorial page very offensive. I can agree that many people are out for what God can do for them, not how they can serve God, But I do not see any evidence of that attitude or life style in Tim Tebow's life. Time will tell.

Good riddance to the doctor unable to take Medicaid patients?! Do you work for free? I bet you go to work and expect a paycheck. Why would the doctor be any different? Blame our fearless leaders, not the doctors. And you are WAY out of line questioning whether that person is Christian or not. Sounds like the person who thinks preachers should work for free.

Amazing: Even a judgmental person like yourself can’t even bother to get the facts straight before you criticize something. Jason Collins did an extremely brave thing by coming out in a world filled with people such as yourself. Words of Wisdom: Leave the judging to God.

To all who use Coleman Road as a short cut between Old Highway 41 North and North Valdosta Road, please remember the speed limit is 35, not 65. Tailgating me isn’t going to make me go faster. Remember, it’s our neighborhoods, not your short cut!
