VALDOSTA —
I love seeing only Raves on Wednesday! Maybe this will spread to the other days of the week! Most of the Rants are due to selfishness anyway!
To the guy in the red van trying to turn onto West Magnolia Street Tuesday afternoon — West Magnolia Street is a one-way! Read your signs. It’s drivers like you that cause accidents.
Hungry for some excellent seafood? Then Bubba Jax Crab Shack is the place for you to be! It is the best place to eat in Valdosta!
Welcome to the Dictatorship of America! First executive order to ban all guns, next wanting to repeal the 22nd amendment so he can be president for life.
Thanks to Tiger and crew at Pete's Otto Shop on Ann Street for their honesty, ability and professionalism! Thanks, guys!
It's great that so many Valdostans want to get in shape to start the new year, but please, please wear reflective clothing when it's dark outside! Too many invisible pedestrians on the road!
Thanks to Keith at Tire King. He is always very honest and knowledgeable whenever I deal with him.
All raves on Wednesdays is a nice idea. The problem is, it's just no fun.
Having seen how the VPD goes out of its way to protect runners during numerous 5K races, I find it hard to believe the VPD was targeting runners on Baytree. Were you doing something stupid? Were you running with traffic? Were you a hazard to yourself or others? Give me a break! As a long-time runner, I go out of my way to be safe and be courteous to others.
Seniors, be aware of scams. There was a lady in her 30s to early 40s standing out at Sam’s Club on Wednesday asking senior citizens for money to go to Madison. When she left, she went toward Walmart and where the parking lots join, someone picked her up and they drove toward River Street. Seniors, please be aware.
Thank you to the gentleman that told me this morning I was almost as beautiful as his wife. It was such a sweet gesture and made my already bad morning a bit brighter.
Thank you so much for making Wednesdays for Raves only! That is so much more uplifting than seeing people bicker and complain.
Businesses that don't accept debit or credit cards are missing out. Most people don't carry cash anymore.

Over 150 applicants applied for the handful of teaching jobs in Lowndes County. Plus, almost every single paraprofessional is a certified teacher who has been waiting patiently, “doing their time.” And, Lake Park Elementary hires a teacher who has quit, not once, but twice before. The "good ole' boy" network at its finest.

Have we progressed to the point where we are arguing about gay marriage? I thought the South was still outraged about blacks being able to marry whites! Hmm...We will catch up to the rest of the world eventually.

I found the cartoon referencing Tim Tebow's Christianity on Thursday's editorial page very offensive. I can agree that many people are out for what God can do for them, not how they can serve God, But I do not see any evidence of that attitude or life style in Tim Tebow's life. Time will tell.

Good riddance to the doctor unable to take Medicaid patients?! Do you work for free? I bet you go to work and expect a paycheck. Why would the doctor be any different? Blame our fearless leaders, not the doctors. And you are WAY out of line questioning whether that person is Christian or not. Sounds like the person who thinks preachers should work for free.

Amazing: Even a judgmental person like yourself can’t even bother to get the facts straight before you criticize something. Jason Collins did an extremely brave thing by coming out in a world filled with people such as yourself. Words of Wisdom: Leave the judging to God.

Raves to Mrs. Kay and Mrs. Sylvia at Cook Primary! They have the best behaved class and are the best teachers in that school!

To all who use Coleman Road as a short cut between Old Highway 41 North and North Valdosta Road, please remember the speed limit is 35, not 65. Tailgating me isn’t going to make me go faster. Remember, it’s our neighborhoods, not your short cut!

I hope Al Sharpton finds time to visit the mother in Brunswick whose baby was shot point blank in the forehead while in his baby stroller. Perhaps the reverend could also counsel the angry young black man who pulled the trigger. Oh wait, the baby was white. Never mind.

I thought that all schools had dress codes that the teachers and substitutes had to follow? When I walk into the school it looks like they are headed to the pool instead of the classroom. Tank tops and skimpy skirts are not allowed. Come on, administration, make them follow the rules. Thank you, to the teachers and staff that do adhere to the dress code.

Property tax should be based on value. School taxes should be separate and assessed to each household equally, no exemptions. The rich, middle and poor should pay equally for children's public education.
