VALDOSTA —
Rave to Wesley at Griner Nissan for going above and beyond with his customer service on getting my Nissan fixed. More people should be like him.
I would like to take the time to thank the ladies at Advanced Disposal for their kindness and patience. I called numerous times and spoke with Stephanie, Tiffany and Pam and they are always polite and get my problems solved. Kudos, ladies. Thank you!
Rave to the young gentleman who changed my left front tire in the WalMart parking lot. Thanks Jimmy L. and God bless. Restores my belief that there are still great people in the world.
I wish to thank the Valdosta City or Lowndes County street maintenance program for placing yellow lines and reflectors on turn-off roads on North Valdosta Road. These features are a great benefit to residents making turns at night! Thanks again and good job!
Many thanks to the gentleman at the State Patrol License Renewal desk that helped my mother with her license renewal last week. (I'm sorry I didn't get his name.) She had every document possible to get her license, but her address had changed due to 911 in Lanier County. His patience and willingness to help was so very much appreciated! Good job, GSP!
It's so nice to see Pet Smart allowing dogs to be adopted in front of their store. I wish they would do that every Saturday and Sunday, if possible, for animals waiting on death row at the animal shelter.
A rave to a hidden gem of a restaurant in this area — the Ravine at Kinderlou Forest. In this city overpopulated with fast-food places, it is nice to have a restaurant that knows what gourmet food is and should be. The food is truly awesome and the service excellent. It is open to the public and I highly recommend it.

How long is it going to take AT&T telephone and/or Mediacom cable to do something about the vines and bushes growing over the cable lines at Mt. Zion Church Road and Academy Acres. The lines are pulled down where a 6 foot person can touch them. We won’t have any cable service or phone service if something is not done about this pretty soon.

Alright Sister's Pizza, how am I supposed to cheat on my diet if you stay closed! The other pizza places are too far from downtown for my lunch hour and are a bit too greasy.

I am thankful I chose to stick with Deep South Sanitation. Our trash is always picked up right on time and he never leaves anything behind. After all my neighbors' trash is "picked up," often items are strewn by the road and the cans are either left in the road or fallen in or beside the road. Get rid of the big company and move to Deep South, if you want true customer service!

Over 150 applicants applied for the handful of teaching jobs in Lowndes County. Plus, almost every single paraprofessional is a certified teacher who has been waiting patiently, “doing their time.” And, Lake Park Elementary hires a teacher who has quit, not once, but twice before. The "good ole' boy" network at its finest.

Have we progressed to the point where we are arguing about gay marriage? I thought the South was still outraged about blacks being able to marry whites! Hmm...We will catch up to the rest of the world eventually.

I found the cartoon referencing Tim Tebow's Christianity on Thursday's editorial page very offensive. I can agree that many people are out for what God can do for them, not how they can serve God, But I do not see any evidence of that attitude or life style in Tim Tebow's life. Time will tell.

Good riddance to the doctor unable to take Medicaid patients?! Do you work for free? I bet you go to work and expect a paycheck. Why would the doctor be any different? Blame our fearless leaders, not the doctors. And you are WAY out of line questioning whether that person is Christian or not. Sounds like the person who thinks preachers should work for free.

Amazing: Even a judgmental person like yourself can’t even bother to get the facts straight before you criticize something. Jason Collins did an extremely brave thing by coming out in a world filled with people such as yourself. Words of Wisdom: Leave the judging to God.

Raves to Mrs. Kay and Mrs. Sylvia at Cook Primary! They have the best behaved class and are the best teachers in that school!

To all who use Coleman Road as a short cut between Old Highway 41 North and North Valdosta Road, please remember the speed limit is 35, not 65. Tailgating me isn’t going to make me go faster. Remember, it’s our neighborhoods, not your short cut!
