VALDOSTA —
City of Valdosta: How long are you going to let the caution lights at the Bennie's Alley crosswalk stay covered with trash bags? It's only a matter of time before someone gets hit.
I mean really, the only thing Obama has passed Bush in is creating three times more debt and an even more sluggish economy. He also done that in his first term. Let's talk about all the job creation, oh my bad there isn't any. The lesser idiot here would be the Romney voter.
How about this weather? Get out, enjoy it, share your light and remember, we all relax in different ways.
To the person who stated Obama must have gotten a C in civics: I guess Mitt Romney must've gotten an F.
To the citizens ranting about burn permits. Burn permits are issued by the Georgia Forestry Commission. While I agree, I too have questioned why permits were issued. It is based on the people obtaining the permits to use "sound judgment.” If you feel that the wind is too strong, then don't burn; weather can change in a hurry. GFC must also use their good judgment locally, not out of an office in Macon.
Thank you to the employees at Advanced Auto on Bemiss next to Sonic. They are always helpful with installing parts for ladies that have no idea what we are looking at under the hood. I'm also very grateful that even though it was almost closing time, they helped me check a bad battery and installed it for me. I just want them to know I really appreciated knowing that my car would start the next morning for work due to their helpfulness.
PetSmart does have adoptions almost every Saturday and Sunday. If not outside, check inside. Both the animal shelter and BARC Humane Society are represented. Don't forget to spay or neuter your pets and there wouldn't be such a need for this.
Thumbs up to Kerry
Scarbrough for standing up for the little guy
who is trying to make a living.

How long is it going to take AT&T telephone and/or Mediacom cable to do something about the vines and bushes growing over the cable lines at Mt. Zion Church Road and Academy Acres. The lines are pulled down where a 6 foot person can touch them. We won’t have any cable service or phone service if something is not done about this pretty soon.

Alright Sister's Pizza, how am I supposed to cheat on my diet if you stay closed! The other pizza places are too far from downtown for my lunch hour and are a bit too greasy.

I am thankful I chose to stick with Deep South Sanitation. Our trash is always picked up right on time and he never leaves anything behind. After all my neighbors' trash is "picked up," often items are strewn by the road and the cans are either left in the road or fallen in or beside the road. Get rid of the big company and move to Deep South, if you want true customer service!

Over 150 applicants applied for the handful of teaching jobs in Lowndes County. Plus, almost every single paraprofessional is a certified teacher who has been waiting patiently, “doing their time.” And, Lake Park Elementary hires a teacher who has quit, not once, but twice before. The "good ole' boy" network at its finest.

Have we progressed to the point where we are arguing about gay marriage? I thought the South was still outraged about blacks being able to marry whites! Hmm...We will catch up to the rest of the world eventually.

I found the cartoon referencing Tim Tebow's Christianity on Thursday's editorial page very offensive. I can agree that many people are out for what God can do for them, not how they can serve God, But I do not see any evidence of that attitude or life style in Tim Tebow's life. Time will tell.

Good riddance to the doctor unable to take Medicaid patients?! Do you work for free? I bet you go to work and expect a paycheck. Why would the doctor be any different? Blame our fearless leaders, not the doctors. And you are WAY out of line questioning whether that person is Christian or not. Sounds like the person who thinks preachers should work for free.

Amazing: Even a judgmental person like yourself can’t even bother to get the facts straight before you criticize something. Jason Collins did an extremely brave thing by coming out in a world filled with people such as yourself. Words of Wisdom: Leave the judging to God.

To all who use Coleman Road as a short cut between Old Highway 41 North and North Valdosta Road, please remember the speed limit is 35, not 65. Tailgating me isn’t going to make me go faster. Remember, it’s our neighborhoods, not your short cut!
