VALDOSTA —
To the individual who criticized the comment about Relay for Life being held around the square and about how they should have attended the City Council meeting. I always was led to believe that this was not a city function, so why bring it before them? This is not a function that the Chamber or Better Hometown should be involved in. Don’t be too quick to judge folks because of their opinions. I love Nashville and think Relay for Life is a wonderful thing. It is a shame it has become an issue with folks.
I'm always amazed by people with a certain ideology who rationalize that you can help people by not helping them. I wonder why they don't use the same mentality for their children who drive expensive dollar cars and send them to universities that cost 20-30k/year.
Big rave to the folks from Moody (and other volunteers) that helped with the Dewar Elementary 5K!
It would be wonderful if a pizza establishment in Valdosta would offer gluten-free pizzas for those who have celiac disease or food allergies. Something to think about. Come on Valdosta....bigger cities already have this option!
A huge thanks to Deputy Bunte from the Lowndes County Sherriffs Office for doing such an amazing job at Valwood's Grandparents' Day. Traffic was in and out in no time and he never stopped smiling!
This was the first year I participated in Relay for Life. It was one of the most unforgetable events that I have ever participated in! I would like to say thank you to all who made it happen!! Without volunteers and participants we would not be making progress in the fight against cancer!
Thank you! I agree with the person who wants Lowndes County Schools to stop letting in students who don't live in the right area. The overcrowding is awful enough as it is! If you want to go to school here, move here!
I paid a $5 admission to what I thought would be a sweet dance recital ... what a shock to hear such inappropriate and vulgar songs.
How does the City of Valdosta plan on enforcing the cutting of grass when they can’t even enforce the signs on utility poles?
Thank you Berrien County for your Relay for Life. There are people in Berrien County who are happy. Little Emily carried the torch who has been in remission for seven months.

How long is it going to take AT&T telephone and/or Mediacom cable to do something about the vines and bushes growing over the cable lines at Mt. Zion Church Road and Academy Acres. The lines are pulled down where a 6 foot person can touch them. We won’t have any cable service or phone service if something is not done about this pretty soon.

Alright Sister's Pizza, how am I supposed to cheat on my diet if you stay closed! The other pizza places are too far from downtown for my lunch hour and are a bit too greasy.

I am thankful I chose to stick with Deep South Sanitation. Our trash is always picked up right on time and he never leaves anything behind. After all my neighbors' trash is "picked up," often items are strewn by the road and the cans are either left in the road or fallen in or beside the road. Get rid of the big company and move to Deep South, if you want true customer service!

Over 150 applicants applied for the handful of teaching jobs in Lowndes County. Plus, almost every single paraprofessional is a certified teacher who has been waiting patiently, “doing their time.” And, Lake Park Elementary hires a teacher who has quit, not once, but twice before. The "good ole' boy" network at its finest.

Have we progressed to the point where we are arguing about gay marriage? I thought the South was still outraged about blacks being able to marry whites! Hmm...We will catch up to the rest of the world eventually.

I found the cartoon referencing Tim Tebow's Christianity on Thursday's editorial page very offensive. I can agree that many people are out for what God can do for them, not how they can serve God, But I do not see any evidence of that attitude or life style in Tim Tebow's life. Time will tell.

Good riddance to the doctor unable to take Medicaid patients?! Do you work for free? I bet you go to work and expect a paycheck. Why would the doctor be any different? Blame our fearless leaders, not the doctors. And you are WAY out of line questioning whether that person is Christian or not. Sounds like the person who thinks preachers should work for free.

Amazing: Even a judgmental person like yourself can’t even bother to get the facts straight before you criticize something. Jason Collins did an extremely brave thing by coming out in a world filled with people such as yourself. Words of Wisdom: Leave the judging to God.

To all who use Coleman Road as a short cut between Old Highway 41 North and North Valdosta Road, please remember the speed limit is 35, not 65. Tailgating me isn’t going to make me go faster. Remember, it’s our neighborhoods, not your short cut!
