VALDOSTA — To the person who did not want to go to Hudson Dockett at a certain time of the afternoon because they moved their voter registration, it is not only black people who are bad. It is all races. I think color discrimination is a disgrace to this country.

We need a train station in Valdosta. The mayor and businessmen need to get together. This would create more jobs in Valdosta.

Berrien County taxpayers need to unite and clean house at city hall and the school board before they tax all of us out of ours. The economy is too bad to be raising taxes.

Please have someone to check into South Georgia Medical Center where there is only one doctor on staff to serve the whole hospital including the ER from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. I know because I had to lay on a stretcher for 12 hours in the ER and could hardly walk. I have not gotten over that.

If you would like to see your tax dollars at work, sit outside at the dialysis center on North Oak Street Ext. and  see deputies sit in their cars four to six hours while prisoners are being treated.

The stop sign at the intersection of Cottonwood Cove and Fry Street in Hahira has been moved to a weird spot across the intersection in a drive.  The Hahira police should do something about this because drivers do not know where to stop — where the sign used to be or across the road. Very dangerous.

I’m just saying as a hospital employee, I can truly say that it is the immigrants that come in to the emergency room with no insurance and when asked for the deposit for the visit, they don’t laugh in your face and say that’s funny, bill me. They go into their wallet and pay not for one deposit but for all three of the kids that were seen. Some don’t live off the government. They take care of each other as we should try to sometimes.

I submitted a rant several months ago about the speed limit on south US 41 still being 55 miles per hour. Well, guess what? They raised it to 65 mph, for a five-mile stretch from just north of Dasher to north of Twin Lakes. Seems like a speed trap to me. If they can’t change it all just leave it alone.

Legal immigration built this country to what it is. Illegal immigration hurts the economy, especially when they are given the same benefits as citizens/ legal residents. The economy is already in the pits and it doesn’t need more pressure on it.

Over 150 applicants applied for the handful of teaching jobs in Lowndes County. Plus, almost every single paraprofessional is a certified teacher who has been waiting patiently, “doing their time.” And, Lake Park Elementary hires a teacher who has quit, not once, but twice before. The "good ole' boy" network at its finest.

Have we progressed to the point where we are arguing about gay marriage? I thought the South was still outraged about blacks being able to marry whites! Hmm...We will catch up to the rest of the world eventually.

I found the cartoon referencing Tim Tebow's Christianity on Thursday's editorial page very offensive. I can agree that many people are out for what God can do for them, not how they can serve God, But I do not see any evidence of that attitude or life style in Tim Tebow's life. Time will tell.

Good riddance to the doctor unable to take Medicaid patients?! Do you work for free? I bet you go to work and expect a paycheck. Why would the doctor be any different? Blame our fearless leaders, not the doctors. And you are WAY out of line questioning whether that person is Christian or not. Sounds like the person who thinks preachers should work for free.

Amazing: Even a judgmental person like yourself can’t even bother to get the facts straight before you criticize something. Jason Collins did an extremely brave thing by coming out in a world filled with people such as yourself. Words of Wisdom: Leave the judging to God.

Raves to Mrs. Kay and Mrs. Sylvia at Cook Primary! They have the best behaved class and are the best teachers in that school!

To all who use Coleman Road as a short cut between Old Highway 41 North and North Valdosta Road, please remember the speed limit is 35, not 65. Tailgating me isn’t going to make me go faster. Remember, it’s our neighborhoods, not your short cut!

I hope Al Sharpton finds time to visit the mother in Brunswick whose baby was shot point blank in the forehead while in his baby stroller. Perhaps the reverend could also counsel the angry young black man who pulled the trigger. Oh wait, the baby was white. Never mind.

I thought that all schools had dress codes that the teachers and substitutes had to follow? When I walk into the school it looks like they are headed to the pool instead of the classroom. Tank tops and skimpy skirts are not allowed. Come on, administration, make them follow the rules. Thank you, to the teachers and staff that do adhere to the dress code.

Property tax should be based on value. School taxes should be separate and assessed to each household equally, no exemptions. The rich, middle and poor should pay equally for children's public education.
