VALDOSTA —
Berrien County's Relay for Life became a political parade that cost the tax payers money. It also prevented many people that participated in the past from supporting the event due to lack of parking and inconvenience in attending. Good bye to a previously outstanding event for Berrien County, not just the city of Nashville.
When you make the decision to treat people badly, don't be surprised when it comes back around!
If you are serving alcoholic beverages to my underage child at your home, I won't be writing about it in Rant & Rave. You can expect to see me face-to-face. And I won't worry about embarrassing anyone; I will report it to the authorities.
To the nosey “friends:” If you are so unhappy in your life, fix your life and stay out of other people’s. You have control of your destiny. When you lose control of that, it doesn’t give you control of someone else’s.
I am very upset with the Valdosta City School system. A principal told me that there is nothing they can do when a child spit in my child's face on the school bus. Saliva carries germs and traces of diseases. They won't even pull the bus tape.
Everyone, quit using the turn lane to merge! Someone is going to get killed.
I guess WALB doesn't care about Valdosta news anymore. It has abandoned our city in its coverage.
To the ranter that commented about being happy about air shows going away, you have a serious problem. You have no idea what air shows do, or their purpose. The amount of people that have lost their lives at air shows are minimal compared to the people we lose on our roadways every day in the county, the state, and the nation.
Maybe we should take all the cars off the roadway, or perhaps ground all the planes because of aircraft accidents, clueless!
It's great that you and your husband have been successful. President Obama has done nothing to stop you from being successful.
If you have an issue with the grass ordinance you should check out moving into an apartment. When you have a house, owned or rented, you assume responsibility for said house, and part of that is the yard.
A great big thank you to Yasmin at the Public Works Department at the City of Valdosta. She is a great customer representative and has helped me on more than one occasion with problems I have had with trash pick up.

Over 150 applicants applied for the handful of teaching jobs in Lowndes County. Plus, almost every single paraprofessional is a certified teacher who has been waiting patiently, “doing their time.” And, Lake Park Elementary hires a teacher who has quit, not once, but twice before. The "good ole' boy" network at its finest.

Have we progressed to the point where we are arguing about gay marriage? I thought the South was still outraged about blacks being able to marry whites! Hmm...We will catch up to the rest of the world eventually.

I found the cartoon referencing Tim Tebow's Christianity on Thursday's editorial page very offensive. I can agree that many people are out for what God can do for them, not how they can serve God, But I do not see any evidence of that attitude or life style in Tim Tebow's life. Time will tell.

Good riddance to the doctor unable to take Medicaid patients?! Do you work for free? I bet you go to work and expect a paycheck. Why would the doctor be any different? Blame our fearless leaders, not the doctors. And you are WAY out of line questioning whether that person is Christian or not. Sounds like the person who thinks preachers should work for free.

Amazing: Even a judgmental person like yourself can’t even bother to get the facts straight before you criticize something. Jason Collins did an extremely brave thing by coming out in a world filled with people such as yourself. Words of Wisdom: Leave the judging to God.

Raves to Mrs. Kay and Mrs. Sylvia at Cook Primary! They have the best behaved class and are the best teachers in that school!

To all who use Coleman Road as a short cut between Old Highway 41 North and North Valdosta Road, please remember the speed limit is 35, not 65. Tailgating me isn’t going to make me go faster. Remember, it’s our neighborhoods, not your short cut!

I hope Al Sharpton finds time to visit the mother in Brunswick whose baby was shot point blank in the forehead while in his baby stroller. Perhaps the reverend could also counsel the angry young black man who pulled the trigger. Oh wait, the baby was white. Never mind.

I thought that all schools had dress codes that the teachers and substitutes had to follow? When I walk into the school it looks like they are headed to the pool instead of the classroom. Tank tops and skimpy skirts are not allowed. Come on, administration, make them follow the rules. Thank you, to the teachers and staff that do adhere to the dress code.

Property tax should be based on value. School taxes should be separate and assessed to each household equally, no exemptions. The rich, middle and poor should pay equally for children's public education.
