I want to rave about Pye Painting! They come into my home and done a wonderful job! Very trustworthy and friendly. I couldn’t have asked for a better job!
This forced trash pick up is a joke and someone will pay for this when the next election comes around. I think our message should be one and done.
You call me ignorant? You blindly follow a leader who, according to the congressional testimony of Leon Panetta last week, was told about Benghazi and never during the attack asked for a follow-up. Who insists the shooting at Fort Hood was workplace violence. Who just sent fighter jets and tanks to the Muslim Brotherhood. Really, I’m ignorant?
Bless your heart. I wish you’d post a list of these companies making “huge profits” so we’d know where to apply. The reality is that most companies are struggling to stay open. Not all business owners are evil and/or rich.
The poverty level of a single parent with two children is $17,568 ($8.84/hour). Obama’s pushing for $9/hour minimum wage, eliminating welfare for that level, unless he raises the poverty level to $19,232. If not, the parent will work less so they don’t lose welfare. Obamacare, and a higher minimum wage, both equal fewer hours worked, lower wage, more welfare.
If you want to see how well the trash collection is working, take a drive down Madison Highway. The beautiful trash containers are all turned over with trash spilling out. When I called for trash to be picked up in the ditches back during the summer, they just came and mowed over it. We’ll continue to do our part in keeping our county clean if you’ll do your part and at least open the dump sites on Saturdays!
Stupid to put 34,000 returning troops on unemployment. Idle, many become frustrated, become addicts, do crime to supplement unemployment, maybe a mass murder, commit suicide. Sell some old inland bases and build many smaller ones along the rugged southern border. The soldiers get authentic battlefield training against murderous drug cartels. We get fewer illegals.
Interesting article that was ignored Monday due to the pope: Since the Affordable Care Act — Obamacare — has taken effect, the deficit hasn’t increased at all, which is exactly what both Republicans and Democrats want.

I am thankful I chose to stick with Deep South Sanitation. Our trash is always picked up right on time and he never leaves anything behind. After all my neighbors' trash is "picked up," often items are strewn by the road and the cans are either left in the road or fallen in or beside the road. Get rid of the big company and move to Deep South, if you want true customer service!

Over 150 applicants applied for the handful of teaching jobs in Lowndes County. Plus, almost every single paraprofessional is a certified teacher who has been waiting patiently, “doing their time.” And, Lake Park Elementary hires a teacher who has quit, not once, but twice before. The "good ole' boy" network at its finest.

Have we progressed to the point where we are arguing about gay marriage? I thought the South was still outraged about blacks being able to marry whites! Hmm...We will catch up to the rest of the world eventually.

I found the cartoon referencing Tim Tebow's Christianity on Thursday's editorial page very offensive. I can agree that many people are out for what God can do for them, not how they can serve God, But I do not see any evidence of that attitude or life style in Tim Tebow's life. Time will tell.

Good riddance to the doctor unable to take Medicaid patients?! Do you work for free? I bet you go to work and expect a paycheck. Why would the doctor be any different? Blame our fearless leaders, not the doctors. And you are WAY out of line questioning whether that person is Christian or not. Sounds like the person who thinks preachers should work for free.

Amazing: Even a judgmental person like yourself can’t even bother to get the facts straight before you criticize something. Jason Collins did an extremely brave thing by coming out in a world filled with people such as yourself. Words of Wisdom: Leave the judging to God.

Raves to Mrs. Kay and Mrs. Sylvia at Cook Primary! They have the best behaved class and are the best teachers in that school!

To all who use Coleman Road as a short cut between Old Highway 41 North and North Valdosta Road, please remember the speed limit is 35, not 65. Tailgating me isn’t going to make me go faster. Remember, it’s our neighborhoods, not your short cut!

I hope Al Sharpton finds time to visit the mother in Brunswick whose baby was shot point blank in the forehead while in his baby stroller. Perhaps the reverend could also counsel the angry young black man who pulled the trigger. Oh wait, the baby was white. Never mind.

I thought that all schools had dress codes that the teachers and substitutes had to follow? When I walk into the school it looks like they are headed to the pool instead of the classroom. Tank tops and skimpy skirts are not allowed. Come on, administration, make them follow the rules. Thank you, to the teachers and staff that do adhere to the dress code.
