Don't feel bad about not living in Valdosta and getting a Valdosta water report letter. I live in Brooks County and got one. Glad to see Valdosta taxes going to good use!
Hudson Dockett, or any other place in town that isn't safe to be in, I'm not going there. I don't care who lives there. There are supposedly "nice" places around Valdosta that I wouldn't be caught after dark in. Put the places to vote in areas where people will not feel threatened. If they don't feel safe, they won't go out and vote. Not a very good strategy.
There are a lot of things about Obamacare that the government doesn't want us to know about at this time. They'll spring it on us later on when we have no other choice when it comes to health care. Just let the American people decide what kind of health insurance they need/want.
Kids these days do need better role models so that they can grow up and be productive adults. And this all starts at home with mom and dad. Notice I didn't write mom or dad. Kids need to come from a family with both a mother and a father. Single parent households just don't cut it.
Just wanted to say that John Ledwitch at Dr. Griner's walk-in clinic is one of the greatest nurse practitioners I have seen! Has sincere love for pediatrics and talks with the parents as long as needed! Thanks John!
The only thing TSPLOST will do is give politicians more money to waste. As always.
When is the southbound exit ramp and the bridge at Exit 11 going to be repaired? The road has been torn up for over a year. It is a major hazard to motorcyclists. There's a caution sign there, but that does not solve the road problem. Let's get it repaired before someone is seriously injured!
To the person in the Rant & Rave on Tuesday. You have shown your true ignorance about the health care law. Your prescriptions may be free to you, but nothing is free. Someone paid for that, like me, through taxes that are numerous now, and going up because of this law. Maybe you should consider getting a job, and paying for insurance like many Americans do instead of relying on the government.
I totally agree with the rant about the traffic light at Gornto and St. Augustine roads. Only three or four cars can make the light after sitting there for who knows how long. Traffic gets backed up to Publix grocery store. Please do something, traffic department.

Thank you to Victoria at Winn-Dixie in Lake Park for being honest. I left my cash back in the automatic check out. She found it, and turned it in. Great employee. Keep her Winn-Dixie.

I am a student at Valdosta State University, I pay thousands of dollars in tuition, but I am not allowed to use the Student Recreation Center because I am not taking summer classes. I was told that I have to pay $45 to use the Rec Center during the summer. As if I don't pay enough already... Utterly ridiculous.

Truly embarrassing that our community euthanizes 12 animals daily. Our citizenry hasn’t progressed to understand responsibility. The end result in these horrible economic times is the ongoing suffering of animals. Other locales nearby have solved this problem; mandatory spay/neuter and breeding licenses are needed to stop this scourge. Let’s get serious, please!

I think what the County Commissioners are doing to Deep South Sanitation is outrageous and I think the citizens of Lowndes County should remember this during the next election. They are giving away freedom of choice. This man had this trash collection before Advanced.

The City of Valdosta needs another cable company! Competition is a great thing.

Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I'm quite pleased with Advanced Disposal. I'm paying less than I paid for service with Veolia, the service is reliable and they offer a large recycling bin. I don't understand what's "socialist" about offering county residents affordable, reliable service.

Closing the trash drop off was a big mistake. I live in Stone Creek so now I can’t put anything beside the street, now I have to haul it to the landfill and pay by weight. I had to pay $15, then I have to pay the trash pick up monthly. Something is wrong in this picture. I have a lot of yard waste, so now I have to take it to the landfill every time I clean yards.

I live in Brooks County. A while back, a limb fell at the edge of my yard. I called the road department asking to remove it. I was told they could not help because it was on private property. Later driving down Johnson Short Road, I saw the road department removing limbs from a yard. I have found out the limbs were on private property.

Do people in Valdosta not understand that when you lag behind at a green light there are people behind you that will not make the green light due to your inconsideration?

Mosquitoes in the city are growing fast. But sanitation and cable bills in so-called "Metro Valdosta" are growing even faster!
