I want to thank the Outback Riders for another wonderful Toy Run. There will be a lot of happy children in our area that wouldn’t normally have a present under their tree. Keep up the excellent job!!
Thanks to the man who paid for my lunch Friday at Cracker Barrel. I was feeling down in the dumps and he made me feel a lot better. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thank you, thank you!
I just wanted to give a great big Thank You to Moulton Branch Elementary. The faculty and staff love our children as much as we do. They work hard every day to make sure our kids are safe and getting the best education possible. ... Thank You!
A big thank you to the angel who gave the $800 to purchase the wheelchair for Kendall White. I do not know Mrs. White but so touched by the blessings. Also thank you for all that offered .
I want to thank the young man at Hambrick’s Christmas Tree Farm that helped my husband and I last Saturday. I’m sorry I don’t know his name but he was very friendly and helpful and was a pleasure to deal with.
My family would like to say a big thank you to Mark and his staff at Sunset Hill Cemetery. They were so good to us during a very difficult time in our life.
Request from the chancel choir to the congregation: smile!
Thank you to the young lady on a bicycle who stopped and helped a man in a wheel chair on Valley Street who was stuck in a hole. This is what I consider to be a Christian.
Thank you to the Scoop on Northside Drive. Valdosta needs more establishments like them. They went out of their way to help me on Thursday morning and I thank them. Thank you to the Scoop.
I was at Walmart Friday night and decided to buy my dog food first and was short of change and this nice, young man Brian decided to buy my groceries for me. It was the nicest gesture in the world for him to do that. Thank you, Brian, you are a gentleman. Thank you!
I want to thank all of my friends (ANGELS) in the local area for their kindness. Our home was recently vandalized and destroyed by some trespassers. The situation has caused our family great stress and grief. Thankfully the kindness of others has helped us to recover our home and hearts from the event. I will never forget the love you have shown our family. May God bless all of you.

Over 150 applicants applied for the handful of teaching jobs in Lowndes County. Plus, almost every single paraprofessional is a certified teacher who has been waiting patiently, “doing their time.” And, Lake Park Elementary hires a teacher who has quit, not once, but twice before. The "good ole' boy" network at its finest.

Have we progressed to the point where we are arguing about gay marriage? I thought the South was still outraged about blacks being able to marry whites! Hmm...We will catch up to the rest of the world eventually.

I found the cartoon referencing Tim Tebow's Christianity on Thursday's editorial page very offensive. I can agree that many people are out for what God can do for them, not how they can serve God, But I do not see any evidence of that attitude or life style in Tim Tebow's life. Time will tell.

Good riddance to the doctor unable to take Medicaid patients?! Do you work for free? I bet you go to work and expect a paycheck. Why would the doctor be any different? Blame our fearless leaders, not the doctors. And you are WAY out of line questioning whether that person is Christian or not. Sounds like the person who thinks preachers should work for free.

Amazing: Even a judgmental person like yourself can’t even bother to get the facts straight before you criticize something. Jason Collins did an extremely brave thing by coming out in a world filled with people such as yourself. Words of Wisdom: Leave the judging to God.

To all who use Coleman Road as a short cut between Old Highway 41 North and North Valdosta Road, please remember the speed limit is 35, not 65. Tailgating me isn’t going to make me go faster. Remember, it’s our neighborhoods, not your short cut!

I hope Al Sharpton finds time to visit the mother in Brunswick whose baby was shot point blank in the forehead while in his baby stroller. Perhaps the reverend could also counsel the angry young black man who pulled the trigger. Oh wait, the baby was white. Never mind.

I thought that all schools had dress codes that the teachers and substitutes had to follow? When I walk into the school it looks like they are headed to the pool instead of the classroom. Tank tops and skimpy skirts are not allowed. Come on, administration, make them follow the rules. Thank you, to the teachers and staff that do adhere to the dress code.

Property tax should be based on value. School taxes should be separate and assessed to each household equally, no exemptions. The rich, middle and poor should pay equally for children's public education.
