VALDOSTA —
I would like to thank Mr. Scarborough of Deep South Sanitation for coming up to the side of my house and picking up my garbage can on Monday when I forgot to take it out to the road. I live on a hill, and Mr. Scarborough and his daughter had to come up the hill to get the garbage can. He is kind and considerate, and when I called to thank him, he said everyone forgets sometimes, and he doesn't mind doing it. It is hard to find people who truly care about others these days. I am so thankful for Deep South Sanitation!
Raves to the group of girls that sang the National Anthem at the LHS basketball game Tuesday night. You did a great job!
A big thank you to Holly at Regions Bank at Baytree for helping me go above and beyond in helping me get a check cashed recently. Excellent customer service!
Great big raves to Brandon at Bruster's on Norman Drive. He was so friendly and provided great customer service. This brightened a very cloudy day! I love the raves on Wednesday. I hope more people take the time to compliment good customer service!
I had a prescription filled at Sam's recently for the first time. I must give a shout out to them for such great service. I will recommend them to anyone looking for a good pharmacy!
Thanks to the the ladies who work in the flower department at Harvey’s for making a flower arrangement for me. They were so nice and kind and went above and beyond in making a flower arrangement for me. We need more people like you.
I just had my first experience at Stripped Waxing Salon, and it was amazing! They are so clean, friendly and knowledgeable you can't help but feel at ease while there! I am so happy Valdosta finally has a place that does quality waxing at good prices!
I want to praise Dr. Urbonas and his staff. God blessed me having him for my doctor at a time when I was very sick and almost died. We know God healed but Dr. Urbonas was a blessing. Staff helped with filling papers out right then.
Rave for Mickey at Valdosta Orthopedics Associates. He is an asset to VOA. We need more caring and understanding men like him in patient care.
A huge rave to Valdosta Family Medicine for being open on Sundays. Though very busy, they were efficient in getting their patients in and out. Thank you to those doctors and staff for giving up part of their Sunday to service the community. It was truly needed.

How long is it going to take AT&T telephone and/or Mediacom cable to do something about the vines and bushes growing over the cable lines at Mt. Zion Church Road and Academy Acres. The lines are pulled down where a 6 foot person can touch them. We won’t have any cable service or phone service if something is not done about this pretty soon.

Alright Sister's Pizza, how am I supposed to cheat on my diet if you stay closed! The other pizza places are too far from downtown for my lunch hour and are a bit too greasy.

I am thankful I chose to stick with Deep South Sanitation. Our trash is always picked up right on time and he never leaves anything behind. After all my neighbors' trash is "picked up," often items are strewn by the road and the cans are either left in the road or fallen in or beside the road. Get rid of the big company and move to Deep South, if you want true customer service!

Over 150 applicants applied for the handful of teaching jobs in Lowndes County. Plus, almost every single paraprofessional is a certified teacher who has been waiting patiently, “doing their time.” And, Lake Park Elementary hires a teacher who has quit, not once, but twice before. The "good ole' boy" network at its finest.

Have we progressed to the point where we are arguing about gay marriage? I thought the South was still outraged about blacks being able to marry whites! Hmm...We will catch up to the rest of the world eventually.

I found the cartoon referencing Tim Tebow's Christianity on Thursday's editorial page very offensive. I can agree that many people are out for what God can do for them, not how they can serve God, But I do not see any evidence of that attitude or life style in Tim Tebow's life. Time will tell.

Good riddance to the doctor unable to take Medicaid patients?! Do you work for free? I bet you go to work and expect a paycheck. Why would the doctor be any different? Blame our fearless leaders, not the doctors. And you are WAY out of line questioning whether that person is Christian or not. Sounds like the person who thinks preachers should work for free.

Amazing: Even a judgmental person like yourself can’t even bother to get the facts straight before you criticize something. Jason Collins did an extremely brave thing by coming out in a world filled with people such as yourself. Words of Wisdom: Leave the judging to God.

Raves to Mrs. Kay and Mrs. Sylvia at Cook Primary! They have the best behaved class and are the best teachers in that school!

To all who use Coleman Road as a short cut between Old Highway 41 North and North Valdosta Road, please remember the speed limit is 35, not 65. Tailgating me isn’t going to make me go faster. Remember, it’s our neighborhoods, not your short cut!
