VALDOSTA —
For all the ladies out there, regardless of your age, keep to this rule! Leggings are not pants, and tights are not leggings. Leggings are fine. Leggings are good. But leggings are not pants! This means that leggings should only ever be worn with long tops – and when we say “long” we mean if it doesn’t cover your butt, even if you bend over and touch your toes, it’s too short.
Thanks for suggesting the Better Mood Clinic. The office staff was very professional and I don't have to wait a month to see someone. God bless you!
Many thanks to Berrien County Hospital for sponsoring Community Day recently. It was evident considerable time and effort was put forth to host such an event.
To the ranter complaining about the Berrien coaches, the money could not be put to better use because the majority of those coaches are volunteers. Ask some questions next time instead of trying to shame others in the Rant and Rave.
How do we stop the Chow Town false alarm siren from blasting our neighborhood all night? Latest example, last Saturday night from 11 p.m. to 9:30 a.m. Sunday! Happens on average twice a month. It’s getting old!
Seriously? I drove through a neighborhood last night where the people already had their Christmas lights on! It's bad enough to see Christmas commercials already. Can you not be thankful first and then celebrate Christmas?
Can someone explain why Valdosta Lowndes Parks and Recreation would hold playoff games in Lake Park? I have two kids who play, one is playing in Lake Park and the other one at Freedom! Why not both at Vallotton so we can watch some of both games? And, by the way, the fields at Vallotton are not being used!
The person complaining about the churches wanting money doesn't get it. The church cannot survive without funds to operate, pay its utilities, etc. The church cannot help the poor or live out its mission in the sinful world without money. You don't stay alive as a church without money.
It does seem like employees everywhere are being more and more rude to their customers. Why is that? Their business relies on customers in order for their company to survive. It's almost like you're interrupting their day in order for them to take care of your needs. Fine. I'll go somewhere else.
A big rave to VSU grounds keepers. It always looks beautiful. A big plus for Valdosta.

How long is it going to take AT&T telephone and/or Mediacom cable to do something about the vines and bushes growing over the cable lines at Mt. Zion Church Road and Academy Acres. The lines are pulled down where a 6 foot person can touch them. We won’t have any cable service or phone service if something is not done about this pretty soon.

Alright Sister's Pizza, how am I supposed to cheat on my diet if you stay closed! The other pizza places are too far from downtown for my lunch hour and are a bit too greasy.

I am thankful I chose to stick with Deep South Sanitation. Our trash is always picked up right on time and he never leaves anything behind. After all my neighbors' trash is "picked up," often items are strewn by the road and the cans are either left in the road or fallen in or beside the road. Get rid of the big company and move to Deep South, if you want true customer service!

Over 150 applicants applied for the handful of teaching jobs in Lowndes County. Plus, almost every single paraprofessional is a certified teacher who has been waiting patiently, “doing their time.” And, Lake Park Elementary hires a teacher who has quit, not once, but twice before. The "good ole' boy" network at its finest.

Have we progressed to the point where we are arguing about gay marriage? I thought the South was still outraged about blacks being able to marry whites! Hmm...We will catch up to the rest of the world eventually.

I found the cartoon referencing Tim Tebow's Christianity on Thursday's editorial page very offensive. I can agree that many people are out for what God can do for them, not how they can serve God, But I do not see any evidence of that attitude or life style in Tim Tebow's life. Time will tell.

Good riddance to the doctor unable to take Medicaid patients?! Do you work for free? I bet you go to work and expect a paycheck. Why would the doctor be any different? Blame our fearless leaders, not the doctors. And you are WAY out of line questioning whether that person is Christian or not. Sounds like the person who thinks preachers should work for free.

Amazing: Even a judgmental person like yourself can’t even bother to get the facts straight before you criticize something. Jason Collins did an extremely brave thing by coming out in a world filled with people such as yourself. Words of Wisdom: Leave the judging to God.

Raves to Mrs. Kay and Mrs. Sylvia at Cook Primary! They have the best behaved class and are the best teachers in that school!

To all who use Coleman Road as a short cut between Old Highway 41 North and North Valdosta Road, please remember the speed limit is 35, not 65. Tailgating me isn’t going to make me go faster. Remember, it’s our neighborhoods, not your short cut!
