The reason cyclists ride in the middle of the lane is too many drivers do not provide enough space if they don't. Drivers try to squeeze by the cyclist if they ride near the shoulder, which increases the risk of being hit exponentially. It's a tough balance for a cyclist of being respectful and staying alive.
My girlfriend, that lives with me, and splits all household expenses gets her income 100 percent from government assistance. Her disposable income is $110 a week. I work one full-time job and a part time job at a bachelor degree level, pay the other half of household expenses and have a disposable income of $20 a week. I'm in the wrong business.
I have been a patient of Dr. John D. Anderson for over 30 years. He has always answered all my questions and has never rushed me in and out of his office. His staff is always courteous, proficient and professional. I wouldn't trade my doctor for all the tea in China.
What justifies VPD using lights and siren to escort the football team to the Stadium? How is that a valid "emergency"? We take football in this city too seriously and it’s about time we treat it like a sport, and not the end all to be all of Valdosta/Lowndes County!
Thank you to the three girls "Open Bible Seniors" who helped me at the north end Chick-fil-A on Thursday night. Your help and kindness was greatly appreciated! Also, big rave to the Chick-fil-A employees! Y'all are always professional and courteous.
If you want a wonderful doctor that has a wonderful staff, please go and visit Dr. Stewart Williams with Valdosta Family Medicine. He is very caring and he is a great doctor. Plus he does take time with his patients. God bless’ Dr. Williams and his 2 PA's (Paige) and (Brandy). You will get excellent care I promise.
Don't tell everyone about the good doctors in town. Now everyone will go to them and we will be waiting an hour or two like everywhere else!
To the person wanting a doctor that listens and doesn't rush you through, check out Dr. Dennis Thomas. Been my doctor for a lot of years.
There is a wonderful waitress at Fuji restaurant in the mall. A rave for Jin. she always has a smile and provides very good service
If all of you private school and home schooling traitors had stayed with the public schools and worked for improvements everyone would be better off.

I am thankful I chose to stick with Deep South Sanitation. Our trash is always picked up right on time and he never leaves anything behind. After all my neighbors' trash is "picked up," often items are strewn by the road and the cans are either left in the road or fallen in or beside the road. Get rid of the big company and move to Deep South, if you want true customer service!

Over 150 applicants applied for the handful of teaching jobs in Lowndes County. Plus, almost every single paraprofessional is a certified teacher who has been waiting patiently, “doing their time.” And, Lake Park Elementary hires a teacher who has quit, not once, but twice before. The "good ole' boy" network at its finest.

Have we progressed to the point where we are arguing about gay marriage? I thought the South was still outraged about blacks being able to marry whites! Hmm...We will catch up to the rest of the world eventually.

I found the cartoon referencing Tim Tebow's Christianity on Thursday's editorial page very offensive. I can agree that many people are out for what God can do for them, not how they can serve God, But I do not see any evidence of that attitude or life style in Tim Tebow's life. Time will tell.

Good riddance to the doctor unable to take Medicaid patients?! Do you work for free? I bet you go to work and expect a paycheck. Why would the doctor be any different? Blame our fearless leaders, not the doctors. And you are WAY out of line questioning whether that person is Christian or not. Sounds like the person who thinks preachers should work for free.

Amazing: Even a judgmental person like yourself can’t even bother to get the facts straight before you criticize something. Jason Collins did an extremely brave thing by coming out in a world filled with people such as yourself. Words of Wisdom: Leave the judging to God.

Raves to Mrs. Kay and Mrs. Sylvia at Cook Primary! They have the best behaved class and are the best teachers in that school!

To all who use Coleman Road as a short cut between Old Highway 41 North and North Valdosta Road, please remember the speed limit is 35, not 65. Tailgating me isn’t going to make me go faster. Remember, it’s our neighborhoods, not your short cut!

I hope Al Sharpton finds time to visit the mother in Brunswick whose baby was shot point blank in the forehead while in his baby stroller. Perhaps the reverend could also counsel the angry young black man who pulled the trigger. Oh wait, the baby was white. Never mind.

I thought that all schools had dress codes that the teachers and substitutes had to follow? When I walk into the school it looks like they are headed to the pool instead of the classroom. Tank tops and skimpy skirts are not allowed. Come on, administration, make them follow the rules. Thank you, to the teachers and staff that do adhere to the dress code.
