You are many times more likely to be killed by someone using a cell phone while driving than by a rifle of any type. So, when are you liberals going to start calling for cell phone bans?
I'm sorry; call me stupid. But can someone please explain to me how someone riding in a taxi can get a ticket from the police?
My Christmas decorations are still up. It has nothing to do with commercialism, nor does it have anything to do with trying to prolong the season, prove a point or anything else some of you people can come up with. I simply haven't had the time or energy to take it down. Should you find yourself with nothing to do one day, please come over and I'll let you take everything down and put it away.
When will people understand that buying gas once a week will not lower gas prices? Why not sit at home for two or three weeks? Laughable.
Everyone needs to fill up on Friday and not buy gas the rest of the week." Really? Think.
While the ranter had good advice for VSU students, all people of all ages need to do that. Another thought: let's all of us, including the law enforcers, obey the posted 35 mph speed limit on Patterson and Oak Streets.
Civility among all age groups and economic groups is at an all time low! Be nice.
The officer gives a ticket to the passengers of a taxi? Something is fishy with your story. Maybe the Taxi driver got the ticket. If the driver broke the law then he/she gets a ticket. I am sure there is some law or rule that states that if a taxi is pulled over by the law, they have to stop the meter.
Has it ever occurred to you that not only is the economy going over the fiscal cliff but this country is also. Thanks to our moral decay. Schools do not teach morals for what ever reason. l would guess many parents don't either and we can forget about the politicians and government setting an example.
I would like to give a big thank you to the Remerton Police Officer that stopped with me on the side of the road, when he was off the clock and on his way home, outside of his jurisdiction! Thanks Officer D. Sinclair!
It is so important to have renters or homeowners insurance. That little bit each month will save a lot of heartache if your home has a fire, burglary or flood.

I am thankful I chose to stick with Deep South Sanitation. Our trash is always picked up right on time and he never leaves anything behind. After all my neighbors' trash is "picked up," often items are strewn by the road and the cans are either left in the road or fallen in or beside the road. Get rid of the big company and move to Deep South, if you want true customer service!

Over 150 applicants applied for the handful of teaching jobs in Lowndes County. Plus, almost every single paraprofessional is a certified teacher who has been waiting patiently, “doing their time.” And, Lake Park Elementary hires a teacher who has quit, not once, but twice before. The "good ole' boy" network at its finest.

Have we progressed to the point where we are arguing about gay marriage? I thought the South was still outraged about blacks being able to marry whites! Hmm...We will catch up to the rest of the world eventually.

I found the cartoon referencing Tim Tebow's Christianity on Thursday's editorial page very offensive. I can agree that many people are out for what God can do for them, not how they can serve God, But I do not see any evidence of that attitude or life style in Tim Tebow's life. Time will tell.

Good riddance to the doctor unable to take Medicaid patients?! Do you work for free? I bet you go to work and expect a paycheck. Why would the doctor be any different? Blame our fearless leaders, not the doctors. And you are WAY out of line questioning whether that person is Christian or not. Sounds like the person who thinks preachers should work for free.

Amazing: Even a judgmental person like yourself can’t even bother to get the facts straight before you criticize something. Jason Collins did an extremely brave thing by coming out in a world filled with people such as yourself. Words of Wisdom: Leave the judging to God.

To all who use Coleman Road as a short cut between Old Highway 41 North and North Valdosta Road, please remember the speed limit is 35, not 65. Tailgating me isn’t going to make me go faster. Remember, it’s our neighborhoods, not your short cut!

I hope Al Sharpton finds time to visit the mother in Brunswick whose baby was shot point blank in the forehead while in his baby stroller. Perhaps the reverend could also counsel the angry young black man who pulled the trigger. Oh wait, the baby was white. Never mind.

I thought that all schools had dress codes that the teachers and substitutes had to follow? When I walk into the school it looks like they are headed to the pool instead of the classroom. Tank tops and skimpy skirts are not allowed. Come on, administration, make them follow the rules. Thank you, to the teachers and staff that do adhere to the dress code.
