We need school superintendents and administrators that are concerned with education and learning and not the politics of their position or future positions. It is very evident that many school administrations are riding the wave to the next position.

The new vehicle tax inquired about is called TAVT. It takes the place of the annual “birthday” tax and catches vehicles previously sold untaxed. I, personally, like it. It's currently 6.5 percent of value, but will increase. Go to www.newtitletax.com and learn more about it.

So you think that VHS should get rid of a perfectly good coach to hire another coach who is less qualified just because the coach is black? Because that is what they did in the movie.

What is up with the new tag and title fees at the tag office? You have to pay 10 percent of your vehicles worth for a tag and title. Who has $2,000 for a tag and title fees? Ad valorem was crazy outrageous, but this is plain stupid!

Our leaders don't walk the innovation talk in their mission statement. Instead, they thoughtlessly tax more. When is the City of Valdosta going to start spraying for mosquitoes? The area around McKey Park and neighborhoods by the creek are over run with the pests. Please help us.

I’m reading the articles concerning the sewage issues that Valdosta has had, is having, and will continue to have. It seems to me that the city leaders are putting all of their eggs in one basket (SPLOST) in paying for the repairs that have been long overdue. I, personally, am not giving this lack of leadership money to spend. My vote will be 'No' on SPLOST.

A big rave to the quartet from Valdosta High. I went to their website and watched them. They are fantastic. They should make it a living.
