Nine Members of the Pine Grove Middle FFA fficer team and Pine Grove FFA Advisor Andy Harrison attended the Lowndes County FFA Officers Retreat held at Camp John Hope in Fort Valley July 19-20. Also attending were FFA officers from and FFA Advisors from Lowndes High, Hahira Middle and Lowndes Middle School FFA Chapters. Attending from Pine Grove – Samantha Zeigler- Chapter President, Courtney Cameron- Vice President, Clay Parker- Junior Vice President, Anslee Barber- Secretary, Conway McNeil-Treasurer, Charity Brown- Reporter, Robby Swindle- Sentinel, Ryan Van Nortwick - Chaplain, and Matthew Farmer- Advisory Officer. Kevin Eppes- Advisory Officer was unable to attend.
At the retreat, the Pine Grove FFA officers worked on developing chapter plans and activities for the coming year. Plans were developed for member development which includes improving membership and membership involvement in the FFA chapter and FFA competitions. Plans were also made for chapter development and for community service activities. There were a number of breakout sessions for the officers by their office and by the individual school chapters. County wide FFA activities were also planned such as the FFA barn dance and annual awards banquet to be held on May 14th, 2013.
During the recreation time at the retreat, students participated in team building activities such as a low ropes course, ultimate Frisbee, and paintball.
FFA is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

Students at Quitman Elementary participated in many events during the school's field day on March 29. The Brooks County High School Student Leadership team participated and assisted students in learning the various techniques of the games that were held.
