VALDOSTA —
Valdosta State University’s Mu Zeta Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi attended the Southeast regional meeting from February 22 - 23 in Nashville, Tenn. Chapter members made four presentations during the meeting, including three in the best practices (BP) competition and one in chapter operations.
The team included Shawn Boltin, Sara Sellers, Dean Jewell, Andrea Corbin, Amber Merrell, Jasmine Johnson, Marhabo Kasimova, Haven Skeen and David Malone.
Awards:
3rd place - Innovation BP on team building
1st place - Imagination BP writing program
The chapter will go on to represent the Southeast region in BP at the annual meeting in August in Anaheim, Calif.
Beta Alpha Psi is the accounting and finance honors organization open to accounting and finance students with a major and overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. This includes promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems, providing opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals and encouraging a sense of ethical, social and public responsibility.
The chapter meets on Thursdays at 5 p.m. in Pound Hall.
