HAHIRA —
Ryan Kelly of Lake Park won the 2012 Honey Bee Festival 5K earlier this month. Kelly crossed the finish line in 18:36.
David Burnett of Valdosta was second, finishing the race in 18:51, 15 seconds behind Kelly.
Matthew Baun of Valdosta finished third, with a time of 19:24. The 13-year old Baun recently won the GISA Class AA Middle School Cross Country Championship while running for St. John Catholic School.
Kaleb Heninger of Fitzgerald finished fourth, with a time of 19:58. Matthew Ennis of Valdosta was fifth, in 20:16.
The women’s winner was Gretchen Bielmyer of Valdosta. Bielmyer finished the race in 21:51. She was seventh overall.
Micky Halsey of Valdosta finished sixth (21:18). Bielmyer was seventh.
Lee Whidden of Hahira took eighth (22:13), Jamie Bullard was ninth (22:17) and Joel Murphy of Hahira was 10th (22:44).
Burnett, Baun, Heninger, Whidden, Lars Leader of Valdosta, Steven Danserau of Lakeland, Jacob Puckett, Dylan Sutton of Hahira and Joe Christian of Naylor all won their age groups.
The women who won their age groups were: Elizabeth Smith of Valdosta, Emma Layton, Karen Cauthen, Amrie Lisse, Anna Consolini of Valdosta, Kala Hobbs of Lenox, Lynn Rice of Ray City and Sandra Fielding of Hahira.
There were 218 runners competing in the race.
