VALDOSTA —
Runners from St. John Catholic School and Valdosta Middle School competed in the Georgia State Middle School Championships in Cochran on Saturday, Oct. 20.
For St. John, Matthew Baun placed 5th overall in the small school boys’ division. He covered the two mile course in a time of 11:48. Mariano Arceo of VMS placed 23rd in the large school boys’ division, with a time of 12:04.
In the large school girls’ division, Madeline Posse of VMS placed 15th overall with a time of 13:46. The top finishers for the St. John girls in the small school division were Brooke Meindl (71st, at 15:19) and Anna Consolini (72nd, at 15:20).
In the team competitions, the VMS boys were 12th out of 17 teams and the VMS girls 12th out of 16 in the large school division. The St. John boys finished 20th out of 25 teams and the St. John girls 18th out of 21 in the small school division.

Blazers fall to Molloy in eight innings
