VALDOSTA —
Valdosta State junior Nate Anderson parlayed his medalist finish at the Gulf South Conference Championships into a spot on the All-GSC squad, according to an announcement made by the league office Monday.
Anderson, who won the 2012 GSC Individual title on the first hole of a playoff, was the only player on the seven member All-GSC team not to play for either North Alabama or West Florida.
The Duluth, Minn. native was the only Blazer to appear in all 10 tournaments this season. Anderson has averaged 75.3 strokes per round on the season and has seen his score count in 26 out of 30 rounds on the season. He tallied two Top 20 finishes on the year, with his GSC Championship being the lone individual title recorded by a Blazer golfer this season.
Golf to compete in Super Regional
Valdosta State has been selected to compete in the 2012 NCAA South/Southeast Super Regional according to an announcement made by the NCAA over the weekend.
The Blazers will be one of 20 teams, including one of 10 from the South Region, to converge on the par 72, 7,064 yard Rock Barn Golf Club in Conover, N.C. on Monday, May 7 through Wednesday, May 9. The event will feature 18 holes of play each day. Valdosta State will tee off 12:50 p.m. on Monday and 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday, with Wednesday's tee times being determined by scoring through the first two rounds.
The top five finishing teams as well as the top two individuals not on an advancing team will advance to the NCAA Championships.

VSU softball wins South Region, headed to nationals

Blazers lose to Delta State, fall to loser’s bracket
If the Valdosta State baseball team is going to win the South Region Tournament, the Blazers going to have to do it from the loser’s bracket.
The Blazers (33-17) dropped their first game of the tournament Thursday, falling to Delta State 4-2 at UT Baseball Stadium.
VSU will face Stillman College, which lost to No. 1 seed and tournament host Tampa Thursday, Friday at 11 a.m. to advance to the weekend portion of the tournament. The loser will be eliminated. -
