VALDOSTA — Valdosta State senior Jeremy Forbus has been named the Gulf South Conference pitcher of the week for the week ending March 7, according to an announcement made by the league office Wednesday.
Forbus was dominant in a relief appearance against Albany State last week. He pitched a career-high seven innings while striking out a career-best 11 batters. He allowed just one hit and walked one batter. He did not allow a batter to reach base from the fifth inning on as he was perfect over the course of the final 15 outs.
Forbus is the third Blazer pitcher, out of five weeks, to earn the honor this season. Brett Kennedy claimed the honor on February 16 while Ross Gusky did so on February 23.
