WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Atlanta Braves overcame a 9-0 deficit to beat the Washington Nationals 11-10 Friday night at Nationals Park.
The Braves started their comeback with four runs in the sixth and four more in the eight inning. Atlanta then scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning of a two-run triple by Michael Bourne. Closer Craig Kimbrel blew the safe for the Braves, allowing a home run to Danny Espinosa in the bottom of the ninth.
In the 11th inning, it was a single by Phil Janish that scored Dan Uggla for second. Uggla then made a great defensive play at second to record the final out of the game.
The Braves and Nationals each finished the game with 15 hits.
The two teams play a doubleheader Saturday, starting at 1:05 p.m.
