VALDOSTA —
Two days after being dismissed by the Florida State football team for violating team rules, former Lowndes standout Greg Reid remains uncommitted to a new football program. A timetable for a commitment is not known at this time.
Reid, a two-time Region 1-AAAAA Player of the Year, has reportedly been in contact with various schools, including Valdosta State and West Georgia, members of the Gulf South Conference.
According to Valdosta State’s official statement, Reid has expressed interest in enrolling and the VSU coaching staff and Reid plan to sit down within the coming days to discuss the possibility of him joining the team, although any meeting that may have already taken place cannot be confirmed at this time.
West Georgia head coach, Daryl Dickey, told the Times-Georgian Newspaper in Carrollton that the school cannot comment on the situation regarding the possibility of Reid joining the Wolves.
With both teams opening camp this coming week — the Blazers open camp Monday and report today — it is unclear as to what is taking Reid so long to commit.
The Times will have continuous coverage of Reid’s commitment to a new football program each day.
