Valdosta’s David Posas selected as Preseason All-American

VALDOSTA — Valdosta High baseball player David Posas has been selected to the 2013 Preseason Prep Gear/PRO-DAY Baseball Honorable Mention All-American Team, according to a recent announcement.

A sophomore on the Wildcats baseball team, Posas was selected as an All-American by PRO-DAY Baseball president, Jeff Gross.

“We are very pleased to have David on our All-American team for 2013,” Gross said.

“It is quite an honor to be selected to this team.  We conducted events all over the southern United States and evaluated many players last year that went through our professional workouts and participated in our ball games. The decisions were tough as we saw hundreds of players, but these young men are the cream of the crop for this year’s team.”

PRO-DAY Baseball is based out of Orange Beach, Ala., and performs professional evaluations for high school players wishing to advance their game to the next level.

Each participant goes through professional workouts and plays games coached by professional scouts or college coaches.

Posas and the Wildcats open their 2013 season Monday.

They will host the Cook Hornets in the first game of the Wildcat Invitational at Valdosta High School’s Bazemore Field.
