The first round matchups for the Georgia High School Association state playoffs were set late Friday night. Here is a look at the upcoming playoff games for teams within The Valdosta Daily Times’ coverage area.
Marietta Blue Devils (7-3) at Lowndes Vikings (9-1)
The Blue Devils finished third in Region 4-6A, while the Vikings finished second in Region 1-6A.
Valdosta Wildcats (7-3) at North Cobb Warriors (8-2)
The Wildcats secured the three-seed from Region 1-6A, while the Warriors finished second in Region 4-6A.
Macon County Bulldogs (4-6) at Brooks County Trojans (10-0)
The Bulldogs secured the No. 4 seed in Region 4-AA with a win Friday night, while the Trojans claimed their first Region 1-AA championship since 2008.
Cook Hornets (7-3) at Lamar County Trojans (9-0-1)
Lamar County won Region 4-AA, while the Trojans slide to the fourth-seed following a loss to Early County on Friday night.
Trinity Christian Crusaders (8-3) at Valwood Valiants (11-0)
The Crusaders will visit the top-ranked Valiants in the second round of the GISA Class AA playoffs following after both teams won Friday night.
