VALDOSTA —
Valdosta State junior Juliana Boehm has been named the Gulf South Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, according to an announcement by the league office.
Boehm earned the honor, her second of the year, after turning in a stellar performance at the Florida State Invitational this past Friday. Boehm finished 19th in the race with a time of 23:01 for the 6,000 meter course. Her time placed her fifth among NCAA Division II runners in the event and was a full minute faster than West Florida's Renea Porsch, the next closest Gulf South Conference finisher.
Boehm also won the Runner of the Week honor on September 5 after winning the season-opening Tampa Early Bird Classic. She joins Alabama-Huntsville's Vicky Winslow as the only two-time winner of the award this season.
