VALDOSTA —
Stormm Phillips scored a team-high 18 points and hauled in 16 rebounds to lead the Valdosta girls basketball team past Coffee, 57-40, on Tuesday night.
The Lady Wildcats are now 15-1 on the season and 5-0 in Region 1-AAAAAA.
Along with Phillips’ production, Tiaera Phillips finished with 11 points and eight rebounds, while Destiny Covert contributed with eight points and 11 rebounds.
Valdosta hosts Brunswick Friday night at 6 p.m.
Wildcats beat Coffee
DOUGLAS — The Valdosta boys basketball team earned a one-point win over the Coffee Trojans, 74-73, Tuesday night.
Rashad Lewis finished with 28 points and Clarence Smith finished with 22 points for the Wildcats. Valdosta hosts Brunswick Friday night.

Valdosta State softball’s bid for a national title repeat came up short this season.
The Blazers were eliminated from the NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament Saturday with a 7-5 loss in nine innings to Armstrong Atlantic University, a school based off the Georgia coast in Savannah. -
