VALDOSTA — The Open Bible Warriors soccer team defeated Covenant Christian 12-5 on Tuesday to finish their regular season.
Jacob Gervacio led the Warriors with nine goals. Six of the nine goals were unassisted, while the other three were set up by assists from John William Worsley, Tim Carlton and Colton Jenkins.
Marlon Barrera scored for the Warriors on an assist from Jenkins. Luke Hannon added a goal, with the assist coming from Dillon Carter. Jenkins also scored a goal on an assist from Gervacio.
Open Bible will play next Tuesday in the state semifinals against Bible Baptist of Hampton. Both teams are tied for second with 7-3 records in region play. The host team has yet to be determined.
