CORDELE — Lowndes High’s softball team won a 15-inning marathon Tuesday evening, defeating Northside 7-6 at the Region 1-AAAAA tournament.
Brooklyn Cauthen’s two-run single in the bottom of the 15th gave the Vikettes a 7-6 win.
Kaylin McCoy was the winning pitcher, pitching the final 13 innings and striking out 12. McCoy also homered in the game.
Last year, Lowndes also beat Northside in a 15-inning game.
