Saints march past Lady Blazers

VALDOSTA — The Valdosta State volleyball team fell to 10-5 on the season after a three-set loss to Flagler College Tuesday night at The Complex. The Saints swept the Lady Blazers, 25-23, 25-18, 28-26.

Katie Onushko and Irene Hannan combined for 22 kills (11 each) on the night. Hannan added 17 digs to lead VSU. Ruthie King and Arielle Parnell each contributed seven kills.

Emelia Saulter passed out 34 assists and was second on the team with 11 digs. Tania Tauiliili had two solo blocks in addition to a block assist to help VSU out-block Flagler, 5-4.

Katie Beale had 12 kills and 10 digs for the Saints. Olivia Snipes finished with 18 digs and 24 assists to lead the team in both categories.

The Lady Blazers will resume Gulf South Conference action Friday at 8 p.m. at West Florida.
